First Division South side Market Drayton Town are now on the lookout for a new Manager following the announcement today thay Manager, Adam Shillcock has resigned with immediate effect.  Shillcock leaves Town with the club second in the table, just a point behind leaders, Brocton.

A statement released by the club today reads:

"Market Drayton Town FC are disappointed to announce that first team manager Adam Shillcock resigned from his position last night with immediate effect. Shilly was appointed manager just over nine months ago in a period where the club was searching for a new identity and strategy to re-build, and there is no doubt along with others he led the club into this new era, where the team is challenging at the top end of the league, the club is proactive and inventive off the pitch, and the fans and community are coming back to Greenfields, a legacy we can continue and build on."

"We will be forever grateful for his contribution towards this turnaround, we thank him for his tireless efforts on and off the pitch and we wish him and his family every success in their future. Shilly and his son Jack will be sorely missed and always welcome at Market Drayton."

"Moving forward Sam Cartwright assumes control as interim manager whilst we embark on this opportunity to find our next manager. We emplore everyone to get behind Sam and the team even more now as we face Hereford Pegasus in the FA Vase this Saturday. As a club we will now follow a process to shortlist and interview candidates for the vacant managers position, anyone interested can send their CV and covering letter to the football club at: secretaryMDTFC@hotmail.com "
