First Division South side Market Drayton Town have announce the appointment of Rhys Evans as First Team Manager following a comprehensive assessment of a number of applications over the past few weeks.  In a statement released by the club, they state:

"Rhys joins the club having relocated from South Wales where he managed Wattsville in the Gwent County Premier division and was also co-head coach at Welsh Premier side Penybont Under 19's.  Rhys is 28 years old and is the holder of a UEFA B Licence, currently doing a masters degree in football coaching and the UEFA A license, which he hopes to finish by the end of the year. He will combine his role as First team manager at Market Drayton with his new full time position at Port Vale's academy, strengthening ties between the two clubs."

Paul Jackson the Market Drayton chairman writes "Rhys is a self confessed player developer who loves investing energy into young players, he is now at that stage where he wants to nail down his game plan and model at a club and push a team forward into new territory, as a club we will ensure that supportive and proactive structure allows himself and the players to flourish so we build on the great start to the season we have had"

Rhys will be joined at Market Drayton Town by new Assistant Manager Ben Bargna who joins from Nantwich towns academy setup. Ben is 25 year old and a graduate from the University of Chichester with a degree in football coaching and performance. He brings with him a particularly strong analysis background, with experience gained at Brighton, QPR and Dorking amongst others.

"Rhys's and Ben's tenure will begin on Tuesday night, as we welcome Brocton to Greenfields in an eagerly anticipated clash.  The club would like to place on record their thanks to both Dom Smith and Matthew Allen who have led the First Team in the interim period. The board would also like to thank all those who applied for the role and hope all supporters will get behind Rhys and Ben."
