NWCFL First Division South League Leaders appoint new Manager

With immeadiate effect following Sunday night's announcement that Matt Burton had resigned, NWCFL First Division South league leaders FC Oswestry Town have announced that they have appointed a new manager - Nathan Leonard.

A statement on Twitter says, "FC Oswestry Town have appointed Oswestry based Nathan Leonard as First Team Manager with immediate effect, following the departure of Manager Matt Burton due to a change of work circumstances.

"Leonard, who comes from a family steeped in Oswestry football tradition will take the side for the first time tomorrow night when FC Oswestry Town travel to Abbey Hey in a top of the table clash in the North West Counties Football League Division One South.

FC Oswestry Town Managing Director Nick Maguire said 'Everyone at FC Oswestry Town thanks Burts (Matt Burton) for the magnificent work he's done at the club since the start of last season, he leaves the club in a great place, leading the pack for most of the season.'

'We are all really excited about Nathan coming on board, as a local lad, he will hopefully encourage more local people to support us at Park Hall.'

Nathan Leonard, who has previously managed Guilsfield in the Cymru North was excited at the prospect of managing his local side. 

Nathan said 'I'm really pleased to be offered the opportunity to manage my hometown club. I'm taking on the role at an extremely positive time and hopefully I can continue the good work started by Matt Burton this season and keep our winning run going.'
