For the second month in a row, Luke Goddard's Whitchurch Alport have won the NWCFL Premier Division Macron club of the month - and he is delighted.
The men from SY13 are one of the form sides in the league and currently lie third in the table but have a number of games in hand over Rylands and Longridge Town, "It’s been a solid month for us, we were very unfortunate not to make it another unbeaten month to be honest with the narrow defeat in the FA Cup. However we bounced back, scoring plenty of goals and obviously the highlight defeating Shrewsbury Town in the Shropshire Senior Cup, probably the greatest achievement in this clubs 73 year history.
"We are very proud of everyone involved and we have lots more to give so we won’t be resting, we will be looking for a positive October to kick on further. A final thankyou to the amazing Red Army, over 300 travelled to support us in the Senior Cup Final, it’s a unique thing to have at this level."
Whitchurch are next in action on Saturday when they make the trip over to Barnoldswick Town int eh NWCFL Premier Division.
