The Buildbase FA Vase 5th Round took centre-stage on Saturday in an entertaining Matchday up and down the region with all 27 games going ahead.

Longridge Town hosted Northern League outfit Hebburn Town, and in front of nearly 700 fans, but after 120 minutes the game was split with just three minutes of extra-time to go when Hebburn's Sullivan tapped home a spilt free-kick - heartbreaking for Lee Ashcroft's side but they can certainly hold their heads high following a superb campaign.

In The PlayerMatch.com Cup Quarter-Finals, Wythenshawe Town advanced following a 3-1 victory away at Abbey Hey, whilst three first-half goals saw AFC Liverpool, 3-0 victors, over Cheadle Town.

In the two other games, Sandbach United scored in first and second-half injury time to defeat West Didsbury & Chorlton 2-0 whilst FC Oswestry Town narrowly defeated Emley AFC 1-0.

Cammell Laird 1907 advanced to the Final of the Wirral Senior Cup as an 80th minuted Mike Furlong goal secured the win over Mersey Royal.

In the NWCFL Premier Division, league leaders 1874 Northwich strolled to a 4-0 win over Hanley Town, whilst Rylands over took Bootle to go second following their 3-0 victory over Joe Doran's side.

Padiham left it late away at Ashton Athletic, Mark Ayres netting an 88th winner, whilst Avro won by the same scoreline away at Burscough.

Congleton Town put on a 5-star show for their 189 fans as they dispatched Barnoldswick Town 5-0, whilst Charnock Richard came from behind and scored two late goals to defeat Northwich Victoria 3-2.

Runcorn Town let a 2-0 lead slip at home against Winsford United as Nathan Cotterell and Sam Marshall helped the away side to a 2-2 draw. Irlam just about defeated Skelmersdale United 1-0 - thanks to an 85th minute Callum Nicholas goal.

Lastly, Squires Gate finished the weekend in 11th as they beat bottom side Litherland REMYCA 1-0.

Lower Breck stretched their lead at the summit of the First Division North to eight points as they left it late to beat Holker Old Boys 2-1.

Shelley and Steeton had an epic battle, with Roy Mason's side leading until late on as they split 6-goals, drawing 3-3.

A third minute Yves Zama goal was the only notable net buster as Nelson took all three points from St Helens Town, meanwhile, Garstang held off a spirited Ashton Town side 4-2.

Cleator Moor Celtic came from 4-2 down with ten minutes to go to draw 4-4 with Golcar United in a thoroughly entertaining game at Birks Road.

Bacup Borough saw an early lead slip away to Atherton LR who came from behind to defeat Brent Peters side 3-1. Elsewhere 139 fans witnessed a fascinating game between AFC Darwen and Daisy Hill which ended 3-3.

Lastly, AFC Blackpool moved into the top half of the table following a 4-1 win over Pilkington.

There where only four games in the First Division South. Cheadle Heath Nomads were the biggest winners of the day, defeating Alsager Town 4-1, whilst Barnton move out of the relegation zone, winning 1-0 against bottom side St Martins.

New Mills and Maine Road share a 1-1 draw whilst a second minute Kieran Lazenby goal secured a slender 1-0 win for Abbey Hulton United away at Wythenshawe Amateurs.

The action in the NWCFL returns on Monday when Barnoldswick Town make the trip to Winsford United in the NWCFL Premier Division.
