North West Counties Premier Division side Squires Gate have been searching for an Assistant Manager ever since Joe Booth's departure to Bamber Bridge and have announced that Jed Starkey has returned to the club after a period away.

A statement on the clubs Official Website says, "Squires Gate are delighted to welcome back Jed Starkey to the club as Assistant Manager to Andy Clarkson.

A UEFA A license coach, Jed returns to the club where he managed back in 2006. Jed teams back up with Manager Andy Clarkson who was his Assistant Manager back then.

Since leaving the club Jed has worked with the FA as a Coach Educator before becoming an intrigual part of setting up a local League One Academy set up.

Jed will join Jimmy Salthouse and Lucy Gray who have both agreed to return to the management team again next season as both coach and Physio.

Manager Andy Clarkson said on the appointment, “Jed is exactly what I think this club needed. He has fresh ideas on how to approach the game and buildup around it. I'm looking forward to teaming back up with Jed and bouncing ideas off each other and progressing again this season."
