FC Oswestry Town have announced the appointment of Richard Williams-Cooke and Ryan Butcher as their joint management team for next season.

Steve Benyon will continue in his role as coach.

The duo replace Michael Barton who left the club at the end of the season, and both have extensive experience in Welsh football.

Richard played for Newtown, Bala Town, Cefn Druids, Flint Town, Ruthin Town and Denbigh Town FC, then managed Denbigh Town FC to a league and cup double before resigning in 2014 due to work/family commitments.

Ryan played for Chester City Youth, Upton AA, Christleton, Chester Nomads, Buckley Town FC, Ellesmere Town FC and St Martins FC, before going to manage St Martins FC.

Richard said:  "We are looking forward to the challenge of managing a club that has made a good start to life in the Hallmark Security League, and we will be looking to build on the foundations that have been set last season.

"The potential of the club is huge and we are looking to strengthen both on and off the field alongside our hardworking committee. Most of last year's playing squad have indicated that they are staying and we are busy trying to bring new faces in at the moment.

"All in all, it is a very exciting club and league to be involved in”.
