Avro have this evening accepted the resignations of joint managers Lee O'Brien and James Hampson, who depart after four-and-a-half-years at the helm.

Taking over in the summer of 2017, the pair guided the Greater Manchester club into the NWCFL iin their first season before achieving back-to-back promotions and establishing themselves in the Premier Division.

A club statement read:

"They have both worked extremely hard to establish us as a force in non-league and leave us in the NWCFL Premier Division and in the semi-final of the Manchester Premier Cup, with a great squad and foundation to progress.

Whilst it’s a shock, all I can do is thank them wholeheartedly for all the hard work and huge amount of time they dedicated to our club during this incredible journey.

Lee and James will always be welcome at the club, and have etched themselves as a major part of the club's history forever. We wish them well in whatever they do next.

Details regarding the new management team will be announced in due course, with the club making no further comment until then."
