NWCFL Premier Division outfit Avro FC have teamed up with Follo FC who will be using the Vestacare Stadium as their base going forward.

For those who don't know, Follo FC is a football team unlike any other. Created by dads, for dads, Follo FC (For Our Lost Little Ones) is also a support group formed to help men deal with the loss of their children.

It was founded in December 2018 by Gary Berkley in Tameside following the death of his 14-year-old son Sam, a keen footballer who died tragically in a road accident.

Gary created a Facebook group which went viral and united dads from all over, giving them a platform and forum to come together and help support each other to cope with their grief. That developed into a football team where for 90 minutes they can come together as a team and like dads all over the world, support each other and play the beautiful game.

Follo FC will be using the Vestacare Stadium as their base, both for weekly training and home matches.

Their Chairman Rob Fuller has been following their journey and contacted the team, with the idea that as a local community club, Avro FC could help the team and hopefully help them grow and achieve their goals.

"I've been following their journey for a while and when I got to talk to the Lads @Follo_FC and what they hope to achieve in the future going forward ultimately helping other bereaved Dads through togetherness help, support and education. We as a community club had to get involved and offer them a home to call.

"Their own and support them on and off the pitch. They are now training and playing home games at the Vestacare stadium we are having an Avro Legend v Follo FC game on Easter Monday (11 am kick-off) at the Vestacare Stadium to celebrate the partnership were a few local celebs, Avro coaches, past players and myself will be putting on the boots to support the Follo FC team and its goals."

All Follo FC players will get a free Avro FC season ticket for 2020/21 season in the NWCFL Premier Division to allow the lads to come together in a football environment even when they're not playing.

Their first game as the Vestacare is Sunday 5th April versus Andy's Man Club (kick-off 10:30 am).
