The long Premier Division season gets underway on Friday evening as Colne host AFC Liverpool at the newly-renamed Haffners Stadium. Colne will be hoping to get their season off to a winning start on home turf as they seek a return to the NPL at the second time of asking, after a 10th-placed finish last term. Kick off in that game is 8pm.

Highlights from Saturday's 11 Premier Division fixtures include two new-boys facing each other as Abbey Hey visit FC St Helens, while Stockport Town travel to Irlam in their first match at this level. Last season's Division One North play-off winners South Liverpool are at home to Charnock Richard, who won everyone's hearts last season with their late dash into the play-offs.

Elsewhere, losing play-off finalists Bury have a trip to the seaside as they take on Squires Gate, in a game where Gate are hoping to break their attendance record. In the late kick off, Chadderton are the first to cross the Irish Sea this season as they visit FC Isle of Man at The Bowl, Douglas. That kicks off at 6pm, with all other Saturday fixtures across all three divisions being the usual 3pm kick off.

In the First Division North, both newly-promoted sides begin their season on their own patch as Darwen visit Maghull's Old Hall Field while Thornton Cleveleys invite Nelson to Gamble Road. Maine Road and Droylsden have laterally moved over from the South division this season, and they are at home to Steeton and Euxton Villa respectively. Skelmersdale United start life post-Chimbonda with a home game against Atherton LR, with both clubs looking to have a successful season.

Foley Meir make their return to the First Division South after a one-year absence with a home fixture against Cammell Laird 1907. There are four other new clubs in the division this season, all of them lateral movements; Runcorn Town have swapped the North for the South this season and they host New Mills, while we welcome Allscott Heath, Shawbury United and Wolverhampton Sporting Community from the Midland League. Allscott are the only one of the three to start life in the Counties with a home game as they welcome Abbey Hulton United to Shropshire. Shawbury travel to Cheadle Heath Nomads while Barnton host Wolverhampton SC. Sandbach United are they only club who finished in the top 5 last season who remain in this division, and they will surely hope to make a good start to the season, starting with a home game against Stafford Town.

The games come thick and fast in the opening months of the season and there are five fixtures taking place on Monday evening, across all three divisions. Stockport Town get their home campaign off to a start when West Didsbury & Chorlton visit Stockport Sports Village, while there are two games each in both First Divisions. Daisy Hill host Maine Road while Bacup Borough cross into Yorkshire to play Route One Rovers in the North division. In the South division, it's Abbey Hulton United v Stafford Town and Runcorn Town v Cheadle Heath Nomads. All Monday night fixtures kick off at 7.45pm, with the exception of Route One v Bacup which has a slightly later start of 8pm.
