His Nomination statement by his club stated "Lucas Weaver's January has been marked by an unparalleled goal-scoring spree that has electrified our fans and left opponents in awe. In just three games, he has found the back of the net an astonishing eight times, showcasing not only his clinical finishing ability but also his incredible consistency under pressure. What truly sets Lucas apart is his ability to deliver when it matters most. In his last two matches against opponents like Pilkingtons and Ramsbottom United, he has not only scored but secured hattricks, leaving an indelible mark on the field and propelling our team to crucial victories. His performances in these high-pressure encounters epitomize his resilience and determination to succeed, inspiring both teammates and supporters alike."
In what has been a good month for Ashton Town having been confirmed as First Division North Club of the Month, their player Carl Peers has secured the Player of the Month award.
Carl Played in 3 games, scoring 3 and bagging an assist. His club nomination reads: "Carl continues his scoring prowess, he has scored a total of 25 goals so far this season. Carl, who is a very experienced player and can play in any attacking role, he has scored 3 goals again this month, one in each match played. He is skilful, can be creative, has great movement and scores great goals, he is elusive and constantly probing defences, the kind of striker opposition teams hate to play against. keenly fought local derby, in which Carl scored from the spot for our penalty. Saturday 27th January at home to Garstang in another rearranged fixture winning 4-1 in a dominant team display in which Carl scored yet again. Tuesday 30th January at home to Euxton Villa in a very keenly fought game from both teams near the top of the division with Ashton winning 2-1 and yes Carl scores again."
Congratulations to Carl!
