The Winners of the Player of the Month Awards for November 2024 have been announced by the NWCFL.
PREMIER DIVISION
The North West Counties League Premier Division Player of the Month Award for November 2024 has gone to Djavan Pedro from Bury.
Affectionately known as DJ, he started his career with Salford City, making four first team appearances including a substitute appearance against Burnley in the Caraboa Cup. After release he joined Buxton before moving to Bury in October. It's fair to say he has hit the ground running.
He made his debut in the last game of October, and scored his first goal for the club in the opening game of November in a 2-0 win over Pilkington.
Another goal followed in the next game, a 1-1 draw with FC St Helens, a game in which he also picked up Man of the Match. This was repeated days later as he scored both Bury goals in a 2-0 win at AFC Liverpool, winning another Man of the Match award.
DJ then scored another brace and provided an assist in the 8-0 victory over Longridge, picking up his third Man of the Match. DJ's fourth Man of the Match award of the month and another goal came in the Shakers first league defeat of the season at Lower Breck.
A superb month was rounded off by DJ with his 8th goal of the month came in the 4-2 victory away at Burscough in the last game of the month
Congratulations to DJ!
FIRST DIVISION NORTH
Droylsden striker George Kattah has been confirmed as the NWCFL's First Division North Player of the Month for November 2024.
George played 29 times for Sandbach United last season, his 21 goals firing them into the playoffs. He moved to Wythenshawe Town in the summer before moving to Droylsden on loan, a move that has subsequently been made permanent after a blistering start.
George was firmly in contention to win this award last month but just missed out. This month there is no doubt.
In November he has played in all five games for Droylsden scoring seven goals including a fantastic hat trick against higher ranked Stockport Town. He also picked up two Man of the Match awards.
The first game of November for George came as he scored two goals in a 3-0 away win at Steeton, a game he also won Man of the Match. He was unable to stop his side going down to a 3-2 loss to Euxton Villa next but scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 home win against Maghull, winning another Man of the Match.
Next up was a trip to Premier Division Stockport Town in the Macron Cup, a difficult place to go over the last few years. George netted himself his first hat-trick of the season in a 3-0 win that saw the Bloods progress.
The final game of the month was another tight affair with Droylsden winning 1-0 against AFC Blackpool. Once again it was George on the scoresheet with another vital winner.
Congratulations to George on a fine month.
FIRST DIVISION SOUTH
It's the fourth awards of the season and for the fourth month running it has gone to Stafford Town! This time it is not Matthew Hearsey but instead his strike partner, with the winner of the November 2024 Player of the Month Award for the First Division South being Patryk Mazurkiewicz of Stafford Town.
The 20-year old striker joined Stafford towards the end of last season from Newcastle Town, and has really kicked on this season with his goals and performances firing Stafford to the top of the league.
November saw Patryk play in all five games that Stafford played, finding the net in three of those games. In total in the month he scored seven goals to take his tally to 18 for the season.
His first game of the month saw him score twice in Stafford's top of the table game against Winsford United. Next up was a goalless draw at Stockport Georgians, before Patryk scored his third goal of the month in a 2-0 win at New Mills.
Stafford's fourth game was a 2-2 draw at Allscott Heath, with Patryk coming off the bench in this game. However the final game saw Patryk find the net FOUR times as Stafford won 6-2 at Eccleshall, this being his second time this season he has scored a hat-trick or better.
Congratulations Patryk!
