1874 Northwich 1-0 Skelmersdale United

1874 Northwich manager Wayne Goodison, "A difficult afternoon, tricky conditions and playing against a determined side. We felt we weren't quite at our best and probably wasted several chances to make the hame a bit easier for ourselves. However, it's a good three points and clean sheet in the end so we can take heart from the fact that we were not perhaps as good as we have been but got the result."

Barnoldswick Town 2-0 Litherland REMYCA

Barnoldswick Town manager Matt Barnes, "After a bad loss to Hanley last week it was important to get the 3 points, we weren't at our maximum however we have got the much-needed win which gets us ready for a tough game on Tuesday versus Bootle.

Hanley Town 2-1 Rylands

Rylands manager David McNabb, "Obviously, very disappointed to lose our first league game of the season. We didn’t play very well at all and certainly didn’t do enough to win the game. Maybe undeservedly but I thought we could and should have had the game wrapped up by half-time, a missed penalty and a missed chance could of put the game to bed.

"Second half Hanley, who were impressive throughout, scored two well worked goals in a five minute period. We created lots of chances in the last five or ten minutes but we couldn’t turn them into a goal. Well done to Hanley who were brilliant throughout the game, good luck for the rest of the season lads."

Burscough 0-1 Padiham

Burscough manager Nick Matthews, "Disappointed in the result.. but we did not do enough to win the game. thought the back four defended well for 90 mins. We just didn't create enough from midfield or wide areas. We did not support the forwards from midfield areas and the ball kept coming back. We cannot keep defending for the majority of games; we need lads to make the right decisions and maintain shape and strategy. Disappointed as I believe we have a side here that should be competing at the top half of the table; the truth is the table does not lie and we need to roll our sleeves up; dig deep and fight for each other. The results will come.
