We were delighted to catch up recently once again with Stafford Town, winners of the First Division South Club of the Month award for September 2024. This was the second successive win of this award for Stafford having also picked up the July/August one.

Stafford Town Manager Adam Wall is pictured receiving the award from League Chairman Paul Lawler and League Ambassador Andrew Reid who carried out the presentation on behalf of the League Committee.

Having won their first ever Club of the Month in July/August, Stafford Town wasted no time in defending it as they again finished top of the averages in the First Division South.

Stafford continued their good form with two decent away wins, a 3-1 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads and a 4-2 win at Foley Meir. They then faced a trip to Sutton United (Midlands) in their thier game, being held to a 0-0 draw before losing 5-3 on points.

Going into the final weekend, there were four clubs who could have won Club of the Month in the South if results went their way. All of them though depended on Stafford Town losing, and they became the first side since Brocton 12 months ago to defend their Club of the Month award with a 5-0 win over Cammell Laird 1907.

Closest to them was Winsford United who had three away wins, a home win and a home draw. Abbey Hulton United, Alscott Heath and Runcorn Town were all in the mix going into the final games.

Congrations to everyone at the club!
