Club of the Month September 2024

We are delighted to confirm our Club of the Month winners for September 2024.
The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. September winners were are as follows:.
Premier Division - Bury
Winning the Premier Division award for the fourth time in five months is Bury.
The Shakers had yet another unbeaten month with six wins and two draws from their eight games played, extending their unbeaten run to 23 games. They also had two "giant killing" wins in the Emirates FA Cup as they moved just one game away from a place in the First Round Proper.
They started the month with a hard fought 2-0 win against South Liverpool before a 1-1 draw at FC Isle of Man, Ben Hockenhull rescuing a point with a goal five minutes into stoppage time. A 4-2 win followed at Glossop North End before their first big Cup win of the month came in a superb 3-0 win at National League North side Blyth Spartans, the biggest home FA Cup defeat for Blyth since 1989.
A 1-1 draw at high flying Ramsbottom United followed before progression in the Isuzu FA Vase with a 3-0 win at home to Burscough. Another league win came courtesey of a 2-1 win at Stockport Town, with the final game of September being another great FA Cup win at another National League North side, this time a 3-1 win at Radcliffe.
That gave Bury a whopping 29 points from their 8 games for a 3.63 average.
The closest challengers to Bury were Irlam with five wins, two draws and one defeat, with Chadderton, Padiham and Ramsbottom United all doing well too.

First Division North - Holker Old Boys
Club of the Month in the First Division North was a close run thing yet again with Holker Old Boys winning the award for the first time since December 2022.
Holker had two away games to start the month with a 4-2 win at Darwen and a 5-2 win at Steeton. They then travelled up to the North East in the Isuzu FA Vase to Crook Town, who play in the top tier of the Northern League so one league above Holker. It finished goalless, with Holker losing 4-2 on penalties.
With a lack of midweek football due to just 18 clubs in the league, they then entertained on the final Saturday of the month, winning 3-2 thanks to Luke Davey's stoppage time winner.
That gave them 14 points from their 4 games for a 3.5 average.
Last month's winner Atherton LR ran Holker close, with an away draw at Ashton Town and three good home wins. Ashton Atheltic also had a good month, with three home wins in the league but defeat in the Isuzu FA Vase at Wombwell Town.

First Division South - Stafford Town
Having won their first ever Club of the Month in July/August, Stafford Town wasted no time in defending it as they again finished top of the averages in the First Division South.
Stafford continued their good form with two decent away wins, a 3-1 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads and a 4-2 win at Foley Meir. They then faced a trip to Sutton United (Midlands) in their thier game, being held to a 0-0 draw before losing 5-3 on points.
Going into the final weekend, there were four clubs who could have won Club of the Month in the South if results went their way. All of them though depended on Stafford Town losing, and they became the first side since Brocton 12 months ago to defend their Club of the Month award with a 5-0 win over Cammell Laird 1907.
That gave them 13 points from their 4 games for a 3.25 average.
Closest to them was Winsford United who had three away wins, a home win and a home draw. Abbey Hulton United, Alscott Heath and Runcorn Town were all in the mix going into the final games.
