Paul Harrison, Stuart Bolton, Harry Bolton, Michael Harrison and Phil Croasdale will all undertaking the journey which will take place this coming Friday, 20th September.

Motor Neurone Disease is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that affects the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure but treatments can help slow its progression and improve a person's comfort and independence.

It is a disease that is particularly close for the five walkers, as well as all supporters of Longridge Town, who will also be doing the journey in memory of George Melling and Barry Ollerton.

Barry worked for Longridge main sponsor SWC for many years and was a regular in Wilfrid’s Club. He battled MND for 8 years and was an extremely popular lad.

George was an ex-Longridge Town captain who played for numerous other NWCFL clubs. George's fight was quite high profile on TV, Radio and written media, with a lot of messages from high profile footballers and sportspeople.
