Quotes from the weekend: Matchweek 7

With the majority of NWCFL teams in action across the weekend, there was plenty of scope to speak to club managers for their opinions on what their teams produced in their 90 minutes.
Premier Division:
Simon Heaton, of Abbey Hey (Abbey Hey 6-0 Colne)
It was a great result for us today, scoring 6 goals and keeping a clean sheet, but we also had to defend really well as Colne had some great chances. We were ruthless in the right areas and hopefully this can kick us on now.
Gary Moore, of Lower Breck (Pillington 1-4 Lower Breck)
We started the game a little sluggish and we were turning the ball over a little too easily, but after we got the first goal via Josh Dobie we soon settled down and took the game away from Pilks,
Two quick fire goals straight after the restart killed the game as a contest, and we then managed the game very well, especially with some tired legs from the game on Thursday night.
First Division North:
John Salanki, of AFC Blackpool (AFC Blackpool 4-2 Maghull)
It was a good 4-2 win for us against a decent hardworking side. It was a bit of a shame about our second goal that we conceded - it was a absolute gift to them.
We created a lot and hit their goalkeeper head on about four times, which is something that we will aim to do better with in the upcoming weeks.
Overall though, I'm happy with our performance. We have been on a great journey from 18th position when I took over, to where we are now over the last 11 months, and we want to continue to improve every week.
Lee Hill, of Daisy Hill (Daisy Hill 1-0 Route One Rovers)
In the first half, we weren't quite implementing the game plan and although we had some good chances, so did R1R. I genuinely think R1R are one of the best footballing sides in the league and I'm really surprised at their results and league position so far.
In the second half we made a couple of changes in personnel and tactics, and started to impose ourselves on the game. Eventually we found the breakthrough on 90+5 minutes, with almost the last kick off the game.
Another testament to how the boys never stop pushing, and on Saturday they got their rewards for it.
Reece Lyndon, of Maine Road (Skelmersdale United 0-6 Maine Road)
It was a professional performance from start to finish. We defended in the early parts of the game and broke with purpose. Once we got ahead we controlled the flow of the game perfectly. It made a nice change that we finished our chances so that the game was comfortable!
First Division South:
Dan Dawson, of Market Drayton Town (Market Drayton Town 5-0 Foley Meir)
It was a fantastic performance in front of a large crowd at Market Drayton! We got off to a flyer, scoring just after a minute and never really looked back.
It was a dominant performance from the first whistle to the last. We will be looking to build some momentum off the back of this as we enter another tough stretch of away games!
Darren Moore, of Runcorn Town (Runcorn Town 3-1 Stockport Georgians)
I couldn't have asked for more from the squad today. It was a proper team effort and I think we got what we deserved. The lads have been excellent since I came in to the club and I am so pleased for them to get the win.
We rode our luck towards the end as Stockport pushed on for the equaliser - there was a great save from George (Huyton) in goal at the end before we grabbed the third goal.
Stockport Georgians are a good side, they will not be down the bottom end of the table for long. It was a great game of footy, well competed by both teams, and hopefully this is the turning point in our season.
