August 2024 Player of the Month announced

The Winners of the Player of the Month Awards for August 2024 have been announced this week by the NWCFL.
PREMIER DIVISION
The North West Counties League Premier Division Player of the Month Award for August 2024 has gone to Sean Doyle from FC Isle of Man.
Sean burst onto the scene when Isle of Man came into the league in 2021/22, scoring 41 goals in his first season to help fire the island side to a first time promotion via the Play-Off's. However he struggled with a serious injury over the last two years and he is now back fully fit as the club and on-field captain.
Whilst results have been mixed so far this season Sean has led by example both on and off the pitch. He came off the bench at Irlam, scoring his side''s third goal in a tight game to give them a 3-1 win. However it was the middle four games of the month in which he really stood out, being awarded Man of the Match by the Ravens opponents in all four games.
First was a bonkers game at FC St Helens where Sean scored a hat-trick despite his side losing 5-4. The next match at Longridge Town saw him score a brace in a 2-1 victory, before a 2-1 loss at Charnock despite him picking up that MoM award. The fourth game in the sequence saw him score his seventh goal of the month in a 2-1 loss at Stockport Town.
So eight appearances, seven goals with four Man of the Match wins. Congratulations to Sean on his Award!
DIVISION ONE NORTH
Nelson striker Charlie Frost has been confirmed as the NWCFL's Division One North Player of the Month for August 2024.
It's hard to know where to start here after a quite stunning month for Charlie. The two games in July saw him win Man of the Match in both, whilst scoring five goals in the process. Two came in the 3-2 win on the opening day at Thornton Cleveleys, before a hat-trick in a 3-1 home win against Steeton.
Into August. Nelson were 2-1 behind at Daisy Hill, before Charlie scored twice in the second half on to give his side a fourth successive win and another MoM award. Another two goals, and another MoM came in a 3-0 home win against Darwen before his best performance of the month at home to Bacup Borough.
Nelson won 5-1 with Charlie picking up MoM once again for his display which saw him take home the matchball for the second time this season after scoring four times. His month wasn't over yet though, netting his 14th goal of the season and picking up his sixth Man of the Match award of the month in a 3-1 win at Maine Road.
Congratulations to Charlie for quite a stunning month of performances!
DIVISION ONE SOUTH
The winner of the August 2024 Player of the Month Award for Division One South goes to Matthew Hearsey of Stafford Town.
Much like Charlie in the North division, Matthew has had a superb month and been instrumental in firing his side towards the top of the table.
July saw him open his goalscoring account for the season in a 2-1 win against Stockport Georgians, also picking up Man of the Match. Next match against Wolverhampton Sporting Community, he scored twice in a 3-1 win and again got MoM.
The middle portion of the month saw Stafford with three home games inside eight days. Matthew picked up Man of the Match in all three games as his side won all three, scoring 11 goals in the process. Matthew scored a brace against Shawbury United in a 7-2 win and another against Eccleshall in a 2-1 win.
Another goal followed at Bilston Town, Matthew picking up the sponsors MoM in this game, before collecting his sixth Man of the Match award of the season in a 2-1 win at Ashville. His month was complete in the final game at home to Barnton, hitting a late winner in a 3-2 win over Barnton for his seventh goal of the season.
