League Statistician Kevin Lawton has been busy and takes a look at the first league stats for the new season. Details are correct to all games up to and including Saturday 10th August 2024.

Overall Stats

  • Atherton LR hit their 2000th league goal when they beat Garstang 5-1.
  • Bury scored their 300th goal in their opening day draw at Squires Gate.
  • Cammell Laird conceded their 700th goal as they drew with Winsford and played their 350th game with the home win against Runcorn Town
  • FC St Helens passed 150 goals as they won at Cheadle Town.
  • Foley Meir hit their 50th goal in the win at Ashville.
  • Litherland REMYCA’s opening day draw at Padiham was their 150th.
  • Maine Road’s defeat at daisy Hill was their 600th, from 1,440 games.
  • Sandbach Utd won their 150th game with victory against Eccleshall but conceded their 400th goal with the defeat at Winsford.
  • Nelson’s opening goal in their big win against Skelmersdale was their 2,200th.
  • Steeton conceded their 400th goal as they lost at Droylsden.

Home Stats

  • Cheadle Town conceded their 1,200th goal with the defeat to FC St Helens.
  • Abbey Hulton’s win against Foley Meir saw them concede their 200th home goal
  • Barnoldswick defeat to Chadderton was their 100th at The Silentnight Stadium
  • Lower Breck’s win against Padiham was their 100th at home.

Away Stats

  • Cammell Laird’s win at Stockport Georgians was their 50th away from the Wirral.
  • Euxton Villa conceded their 50th goal in their opening day defeat at Droylsden.
  • Nelson won their 200th game with the victory at AFC Blackpool.
  • Ramsbottom scored their 600th goal on the road in the opening day draw at Pilkington.
  • Route One Rovers conceded their 50th away goal in the defeat at Thornton Cleveleys.
  • Skelmersdale’s defeat at Darwen saw them conceded their 1,000th away goal.
  • Steeton’s defeat at Nelson was their 50th on the road.

Goal Heroes

  • Dean Ing of Squires Gate scored the Premier Division’s first triple with the 4-4 draw with Bury.
  • Tanaka Cherera hit three for Bury in their FA Cup win at Congleton Town.
  • Charlie Frost is the only North Division triple player so far, hitting three for Nelson at home to Steeton.
  • Finlay Pattison with three for Foley Meir in their win at Ashville. This was also the club’s first triple in the NWCFL.
  • Kieran Brown got three for Abbey Hulton as they won at Wolverhampton Sporting Casuals.
  • Liam Hallam’s triple for Eccleshall as they beat Abbey Hulton 3-0 was their first since 14th December 2019 – 1,701 days ago!!!
  • Leon Creech with all three of Darwen’s goals as they lost at home to Thornton Cleveleys.
  • Joel Ankers with three in the first 28 minutes of Droylsden’s six against Steeton

Bits and Pieces

  • Barnton’s 0-0 at New Mills was exactly one year on from their last 0-0.
  • Market Drayton secured their first clean sheet for 29 games with the 4-0 in against Runcorn Town
