AFC LIVERPOOL MANAGER MATT POTTER ON HIS SIDES 4-1 COMEBACK WIN AT SQUIRES GATE

"We didn’t start well, going a goal behind in the first five minutes, but the reaction from was superb and really pleasing. We scored two good goals to turn it around and the second half performance was very professional, adding another two more and really taking the game away from Squires Gate.

"The lads mentality of all the players was terrific. It was a very disciplined team performance and they really battled for each other throughout which is something we have worked on and great to see. That cohesion is important and it really came out today. A terrific win!"

WYTHENSHAWE TOWN'S JAMES KINSEY ON HIS SIDES 3-1 WIN AT IRLAM

"Irlam is always a tough place to go and we are just made up to get three points on the board. We lost at Irlam last season and it was one we had to get something from. It was difficult losing our keeper to an injury after 60 minutes, but we come away from there very happy!

"We have a midweek off now where we can get back on the training field and will look to concentrate on the next game now. Its Macclesfield away in the FA Cup. We had fun there last year and hope to have the same experience again!"

BARNOLDSWICK TOWN'S DANNY CRAIG ON HIS SIDES 3-1 WIN OVER WINSFORD UNITED

"It was really important to us that we started well and got a result early on. Winsford is not an easy game at any stage of the season and it’s a tough opener. We created some good chances but went behind to a good goal from Winsford although I feel we should have effected it higher up the pitch and maybe stopped it. We scored a good goal of our own right on half time and although happy with that we were disappointed not to be ahead at halftime with the chances we had created.

"Second half I felt we had a lot of the ball and our fitness levels were where they needed to be to take control of the game which we did. The second goal came and another to finish the game off late on. Credit to the players who went out and delivered an organised performance.

"It’s always great to start with a win but it’s just one win, that’s banked now and we have to focus on Tuesday which will be a new test against what I expect will be a strong Kendal side."

STEETON MANAGER ROY MASON ON HIS SIDES 6-1 WIN OVER CLEATOR MOOR CELTIC

"I thought that we controlled the game throughout against Cleator Moor and we throughly deserved the win. The first half was paricularly dominant having scored four, and I am pleased for Luke Baldwin who netted his hat-trick in the second half.

"However I’ve been round far too long to get carried away following one game. We need to look to build on what has been a really good start with another strong performance next week at Chadderton. I feel this league is going to be extremely competitive with a lot of sides believing that they can be successful this season."

EUXTON VILLA MANAGER MATTY ATHERTON ON HIS SIDES 3-2 AT BACUP BOROUGH

"Like any manager, it’s great to get off with a win in your first game of the season and this is no different! I think it should provide us with confidence to go and mix it with any team in the league, as unlike other teams that have come out of the West Lancs such as Charnock and Longridge, we haven’t come up after winning what is a really strong league.

"However we are really proud of the group of players we have assembled, many who’ve been at the club a long time, as they know what it means to play for a club like Euxton and what we are asking of them.

"We are not going to get carried away with ourselves however after one good result as this is a really competitive division where any team can beat anyone else on there day, but if we can approach every game as we did today then we should be able to achieve our minimum expectation of staying in Counties football this season."

PILKINGTON MANAGER STE PALFREY ON HIS SIDES 5-1 WIN OVER ASHTON TOWN

"The first game of the season is always about getting three points whichever way you can as every team is full of confidence. Add in a derby and the extra spice of it being our new Chairman’s former club meant today was always a potentially difficult game.

"We are made up though with the way the lads controlled it. I thought that we showed great composure on the ball and scored some superb team and individual goals. It was a pleasing result but its in the past now and we look forward to another tough fixture away at Darwen on Wednesday evening."

DAISY HILL MANAGER LEIGHTON MILLS ON COMING FROM BEHIND TO WIN 4-2 AT SOUTH LIVERPOOL

"It was a great result for us on the opening day. South Liverpool is never an easy place to go and get a result, so to start the season with a win there is fantastic.

"We all know that seasons are not won on the opening day though but it's always nice to get that first three points as early as possible.

"We have a free week now before moving on to Holker next weekend which will be another tough test for us."

ASHVILLE ASSISTANT MANAGER IAN WHITE ON HIS SIDES STUNNING 4-0 DEBUT WIN OVER ABBEY HEY

"It was an immense performance, with the workrate and commitment superb. It was just a great day on and off the pitch. There has been a lot of work to get us into the Counties and its all come to fruition today.

"Tommy Johnstone [who scored all four goals] played really well but he wasn't the only one. There was a lot of good performances all over the pitch to get the ball to him. We have a good, young squad and can build on this.

"The club needed this today. Everything we have done needed a good start, we'll enjoy ourselves tonight and I'm looking forward to Tuesday at Cheadle Heath."

FOLEY MEIR MANAGER KEIRAN MEAR AFTER PICKING UP HIS SIDES FIRST NWCFL WIN AT CHEADLE HEATH

"It was a fantastic win for the lads today, a great effort and performance from everyone involved, especially considering that we had eight players missing for one reason or another. It was always going be a tough place to go away to Cheadle Nomads in our first ever North West Counties game. To be fair to the opposition they were well organised and had great attacking options.

"I felt that they controlled large spells of the game but we limited their chances at the end of the pitch. Fortunately for us, we took our chances in front of goal and scoring in stoppage time meant that they had very little time to come back. That definitely helped us gain the valuable three points on the road.

"I wish Cheadle Heath Nomads all the best for the season, who were fantastic with us on our first game in the league."

SANDBACH UNITED'S DECLAN SWAN ON HIS SIDES 6-1 WIN OVER ROCESTER

"It's great to get the season off to a good start with a win obviously. The boys played well, but we know they can still move up a couple of gears which is really pleasing.

"The Sandbach crowd were great again today, and you want to play in front of them big crowds. Results and performances like that will do no harm in our chances of keeping them coming down to watch us this season. We have put in a lot of hard work over the last few years off the pitch and its a great environment for watching football now.

"One win though and being top of the table is good but we’ve got to not get carried away if we want to be up there come the final game of the season."

WYTHENSHAWE AMATEUR'S SHANE GOLDRICK ON HIS SIDES 4-0 WIN OVER ALSAGER TOWN

"It was good to get back playing a competitive league game again at Holyhedge Park after what seems ages since the last campaign finished. The lads have trained hard over the last few weeks getting ready for today and we knew that Alsager would be difficult to break down.

"To be honest there are positives to take from the game however there are also areas that we do need to work on, which is always going to be the case after the first game. We know that next week is going to be tough against Stockport who had a good win at Barnton. We now need to focus our attention on that game next Saturday at training on Tuesday and Thursday.

"It’s good to be back though!"
