In the Cheshire Senior Cup Second Round, Winsford United bowed out of the competition as they were defeated 4-2 by Hyde United.
Elsewhere, in the NWCFL First Division South, a Jack Coop hat-trick helped Maine Road to a convincing 6-1 over Ellesmere Rangers, whilst a 94th minute Aaron Dwyer goal secured a late win for Adam Jones' Stockport Town at home against Abbey Hey.
24 hours later, FC Oswestry ran riot in the TJ Vickers Premier Cup Quater-Final against Wem Town as they put eight past the visitors without reply.
In the Cheshire Senior Cup, a delight Mick McGraa travelled home from Stalybridge Celtic knowing his side were in the hat in the next round following a slender 1-0 win for his Vauxhall Motors side.
There was more good news for NWCFL sides, as Cleator Moor Celtic defeated former NWCFL side Carlisle City 3-2 after extra time.
Golcar United and Nelson had an 8-goal thriller in the First Division North with the home side coming out 5-3 winners with 268 watching on.
Just down the road, Shelley lost 3-2 to Holker Old Boys on one of their longest trips of the season.
In the Southern section, Cheadle Town made it six league wins on the bounce, one of their best runs in their history, as a brace from in-form Patrick Davin helped them to a 3-1 victory away at Abbey Hulton United.
Wythenshawe Amateurs put on a 5-star performance against St Martins winning 5-0 whilst Wythenshawe Town and West Didsbury & Chorlton thrashed out a 2-all draw.
Wednesday evening saw two County Cup games and three league fixtures.
Emley bowed out of the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup after a 3-0 loss to NCEL side Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Whilst Pilkington hosted Southport but lost 4-1.
In the NWCFL Premier Division Ashton Athletic defeated Longridge Town 3-2, meanwhile Runcorn Town took all three points with a 4-1 win over Avro and Northwich Victoria made it three wins on the bounce as they beat Barnoldswick Town 2-nil.
Lastly, Stone Old Alleynians narrowed the gap to the top two with a 3-1 win over Eccleshall.
The action returns to the NWCFL on Saturday with all 60 sides scheduled to play. FC Oswestry Town will kick-off at 5:30pm as The New Saints are playing at 2:30pm.
