Alsager Town have been awarded a substantial grant by the Football Foundation to help with the re-building of the clubhouse that was ravaged by fire in July 2011.
Club Chairman Terry Greer said: “Without the grant, we couldn't have foreseen the re-building of the clubhouse ever coming off, due to the massive amount of money required”.
The building will be of a modular construction and it will be sited on the old car park alongside the new changing facilities. The site of the previous clubhouse and changing rooms will now become a new car park for between 20 and 30 vehicles.
Work is expected to begin in the next week or so, and it is hoped that things will be up and running in time for the Christmas period or sooner.
