Thu 12th February 2026 | League Awards | By Martin Fallon
Wythenshawe Goalkeeper Ryan Forde was presented with his Premier Division paxsport Goalkeeper of the Month award for December 2025 at one of the clubs' recent home game with. League Fixtures Co-ordinator Jeff Voller went along and he is pictured presenting Ryan with his award prior to the game.
Its the second time Ryan has won this award in four months after winning it in September.
Ryan came through at National League side Altrincham, playing one game for Avro in the Manchester Cup in 2021. His first club in the NWCFL was Alsager Town who he played for in 2022/23 before moving to Cheadle Heath Nomads at the start of 2023/24. He remained at Cheadle for two seasons until moving to Wythenshawe at the start of this season.
The first game in December saw title rivals Ramsbottom United visit. It was a game of few chances, with Ryan producing some outstanding saves to see his side over the line. Ammies ran out 2-0 winners, with Ryan rewarded for his efforts with a clean sheet.
Next up was a trip to City of Liverpool, with Ammies putting in a professional performance in a 2-1 win. Ryan was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet here, conceding the only goal with nine minutes to go but one he could do little to prevent.
The third game was a tough game away back in Merseyside at AFC Liverpool, with the Reds nine games unbeaten coming into the game. Wythenshawe were rampant, winning 5-1, with the confidence starting at the back through Ryan whose encouragement and outstanding distribution gives confidence throughout the team. Again he was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet, with the only goal conceded coming from the penalty spot.
Ryan's worth to the team becomes apparant in the games against other leading teams, and like the first game against Rammy, Ryan was on form against West Didsbury & Chorlton on Boxing Day. Again he pulled off several vital saves to keep West at bay, with Ryan named Man of the Match in a 1-0 win, that clean sheet being his 15th of the season so far.
Despite his young years, Ryan's worth around the club is immesurable. He is an inspiration to other keepers at our club, helping and supporting them. He has also won the support from supporters, reflected in some youths wearing a replica keeper shirt on a matchday.
Four games in the month for Ryan, with two clean sheets and just two goals conceded.
Congratulations to Ryan on his Award!
