Premier Division - Atherton LR

Winning the Premier Division award for February 2026 is Atherton LR. This is their first monthly award in the Premier Division, and their first overall since winning Club of the Month in the First Division North in March 2025.

LR had a 100% record in the month with two wins on the road and one at home. They scored eight goals and conceded just three.

The first game in February saw them host promotion chasing Padiham, and they scored early through Abiola Obasoto on 13 minutes. On the half hour, Cal Hunter doubled the lead, and that's how it stayed until just before the hour mark when Lee Pugh pulled one back. LR saw out the game well though to secure all three points.

Next up was a postponed game at home to City of Liverpool before travelling to AFC Liverpool. They opened the scoring even earlier this time with Cal Hunter putting them ahead on nine minutes before Adam Moorcroft equalised midway through the second half. George Chadwick restored the lead for LR on 79 minutes, before adding another to make it 3-1 in the last minute.

After another postponed game at Wythenshawe, the third game was a trip to Barnoldswick Town. They fell behind on 20 minutes through a Gareth Hill goal before quickly levelling through George Chadwick. They had to wait until midway through the second half when Thomas Romano put them ahead, and secured victory two minutes into stoppage time when Harvey Sample added a third to give them another 3-1 win.

Their final game was away at FC St Helens in a game that was abandoned at half time due to a waterlogged pitch. LR were 3-0 ahead at the break and looking on course for a fourth win in the month.

Those performances gave LR 11 points from their 3 games for a 3.67 average.

Chadderton, Irlam and Stockport Town all ran LR close in February by going through the month unbeaten, but ultimately draws cost them in the end.

Club of the Month in the First Division North for February 2026 is Droylsden. This is the first time that they have won Club of the Month in the NWCFL, although we do not have records from their first spell back in the early 1980's.

They played three league games in the month, winning them all, with an away win in the FA Vase. They did lose once which came at home to a Step 5 team as their Vase journey ended at the Quarter Final stage.

Their first game in February came on the first Saturday with a home game against Nelson. The final game of the month came at home to Cockfosters in the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase. They play in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands Football League which is a league higher and were in the play-off positions at the time of the match. Cockfosters took the lead on 13 minutes through Kreendall Gyamfi before Kyle Campbell levelled on 27 minutes. Cory Ugbomah restored the lead on 39 minutes only for Droylsden to level again in first half stoppage time through Cory Ugbomah. The month started off slowly with postponements at Foley Meir and at home to Alsager Town. They finally got going with a home game against Stafford Town. It looked good for the visitors when James Rowland put them ahead just after the half hour, but goals from Sam Flower on 43 minutes and Liam Kennington two minutes later swung the game Runcorn's way and gave them the lead at half time. The second half was close until 20 minutes from time when Charlie Harland made it 3-1. Flower made it four with his second of the game on 76 minutes with Connor Spiers scoring the fifth on 84 minutes.
