Weekend 16 saw several games postponed due to the weather, but we still saw action in the Second Round of the Edward Case Cup and all three divisions.
Edward Case Cup
There were four ties scheduled in both of the North and South sections of the Edward Case Cup, with three taking place in each section.
In the North, Darwen twice came from behind to level at Ashton Town, with Abdullah Zaffar's goal with 12 minutes remaining giving them a fine 3-2 away win. Bacup Borough found themselves 2-0 down at Maghull, with a Oliver Hodgson double hauling them level in the second half. That finished 2-2 with Mahull winning 5-4 on penalties.
The other game in the North section saw Maine Road and AFC Blackpool play out a goalless draw. That also meant penalties, with Maine Road winning 3-2 from the spot.
In the South section, Barnton ran out 2-0 winners over Ashville with league leaders Runcorn Town beating Stafford Town 2-1. It was also 2-1 at Sandbach United where the home side overcame Cheadle Heath Nomads, Joe Bevan scoring both goals for Sandbach.
Telford Town v Stockport Georgians was also postponed due to the weather.
Premier Division
Performance of the day in the Premier Division came from Chadderton, who romped past City of Liverpool winning 8-0. Lewis-Simon Byrne scored four in the game to take his tally to 24 for the season, with Connor Berry also scoring a brace.
West Didsbury & Chorlton are the new league leaders with Ramsbottom United and Padiham both not playing. West travelled to FC Isle of Man where a Jack Banister double put them two goals ahead. The Ravens reduced the defecit with four minutes to go, only for West to seal the points four minutes into stoppage time with a third.
Nathan Nickeas was another who scored a hat-trick on Saturday, his three goals helping Charnock Richard to a 5-1 win over Cheadle Town, the South Manchester side having taken the lead in that game.
Glossop North End won 2-1 at Burscough, with Wythenshawe and Stockport Town both securing 2-0 home wins against Euxton Villa and Garstang respectively.
First Division North
There was just three games in the First Division North with Ashton Athletic climbing off the bottom after a 3-0 home win against Garstang. Squires Gate also did their survival hopes the world of good, climbing out of the bottom three after a 2-1 win over Steeton.
The third game saw Colne take the lead at home to Thornton Cleveleys, only for the Flyde side to hit back and move 4-1 ahead, the final score ending 4-2.
First Division South
Just two games survived the weather in the South, with Foley Meir beating Shawbury United 2-1. The other saw Allscott Heath take the lead only for Market Drayton to hit back in the second half to move 2-1 ahead. A late goal for Allscott saw them claim a point in a 2-2 draw.
