The Buildbase FA Vase took centre stage on Saturday with the two remaining NWCFL sides in action with Longridge Town hosting Hebburn Town and Northwich Victoria welcoming Newark Flowserve.
And what an afternoon they had. Longridge Town swept aside Midland Football League side Newark Flowserve with a thumping 5-1 victory to advance into the Fifth Round. Whilst Mick McGraa's Vauxhall Motors lost 1-0 to Northern League Division One outfit Hebburn Town - going out to a first minute Oliver Martin goal.
Whilst in the NWCFL Premier Division, league leaders 1874 Northwich were leading 3-2 with five minutes to go at Padiham, but their games were abandoned due to a water-logged pitch.
Second place Bootle narrowed the gap at the summit to just three points with a 3-0 win away at Congleton Town. Meanwhile, third place Charnock Richard won 3-1 against Rylands and Ashton Athletic had to come from 2-0 down and battled back to win 4-2 in a superbly entertaining game against Irlam.
Elsewhere., bottom side Litherland REMYCA went level on points with second-bottom Burscough following a 4-1 win against Hanley Town whilst Nick Matthews side didn't play. A 57th minute Saul Henderson finish helped Northwich Victoria win 1-0 over Avro and a David Forbes injury-time winner secured a late victory for Runcorn Town away at Winsford United.
Luke Evans side Squires Gate locked horns with Whitchurch Alport - but it produced a goalless draw, the only one of the afternoon.
In the NWCFL First Division North, leaders Lower Breck collected all three points for the first time for four weeks as they held off AFC Blackpool in a 4-3 thriller.
A trip to Emley AFC for Garstang saw the second-place side narrowly win 2-1, whilst, a Brandon Collins 14-minute hat-trick helped Holker Old Boys to a thumping 8-0 win over Daisy Hill and it was all smiles for AFC Liverpool won defeated Atherton LR 4-1 - Kyle Schorah bagging a brace.
At Ashton Town, Golcar United ran riot winning 6-1 away from home in a dominant display, whilst Chadderton eventually held off AFC Darwen in a magnificent game at the ARK Fleetech Stadium, winning 4-3.
Finally, Pilkington came from behind to win 3-2 at Nelson, whilst Shelley won by the same scoreline at St Helens Town to finish the day four points off third place. Bacup Borough's game with Steeton was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch with the away side winning 1-0.
Meanwhile in the NWCFL First Division South, with leaders Vauxhall playing in the FA Vase, FC Oswestry Town had the chance to close the gap at the top and duly did so to four points, with a 2-1 away win at Wythenshawe Town.
Just a few miles away at Wythenshawe Amateurs, Sandbach United returned home with all three points following a tight 2-0 win, whilst, West Didsbury & Chorlton beat Cammell Laird 2-1 and Eccleshall won 2-0 at St Martins.
Cheadle Town are 9th now, after a 2-1 away win versus New Mills, whilst Stone Old Alleynians recorded their biggest away win of the season - beating Barnton 6-1, and two late goals turn the tie on its head for Stockport Town - winning 2-1 away at Alsager Town.
An own goal and an Emmanuel Williams strike aided Ellesmere Rangers to a 2-0 win over Abbey Hulton United and rounding the day up, Cheadle Heath Nomads, having lost their previous eight games in all competitions, put on a superb display at Abbey Hey, running out 4-1 victors.
The action returns on Monday in the NWCFL Premier Division when Winsford United welcome Barnoldswick Town at Barton Stadium.
