Cammell Laird 1907 moved into second place in the table after their 3-3 draw in the Merseyside derby against Litherland REMYCA in midweek, and Atherton LR are the latest club to face up to Lairds' fearsome goalscoring firepower when they travel to the MBS Stadium.

LR go into to the game on the back of a five game winless run, and looking purely at the form guide, it's hard to envisage anything other than an uncomfortable afternoon for Ross McNair's men.

Lairds have only once failed to score less than three goals in a game since early August, and have scored 19 goals in their last four home games, but LR can take heart from the fact that Litherland REMYCA managed to breach the Lairds defence three times in midweek.  With Atherton Collieries in FA Vase action, a point will be enough to move Lairds to the top of the table.

The afore mentioned Litherland REMYCA travel to face Cheadle Town, with the midweek result and a win last Saturday over Ashton Town stemming a run of four straight defeats. Cheadle will be hoping that the novelty of home advantage for the second week in a row, after hosting their first home game of the season last week, will deliver their first home win of the season.

Irlam have earned plenty of plaudits from opponents this season for their performances, although unfortunate narrow defeats have been a feature of their season so far. However, a 4-1 win over Litherland REMYCA on their last appearance at Silver Street a fortnight ago will not have gone unnoticed by Saturday's visitors Barnton, whose recent away form has been better than the results they have produced at home.

The final game sees bottom of the table Oldham Boro host Northwich Flixton Villa, where a win for Boro would be only their second of the season at Seel Park, and would pull them level on points with Villa.
