Some bits and pieces from around the NWCFL this week:

Premier Division:

  • Nothing to report - please get in touch if you have anything to feature!

First Division North:

  • In the wake of National League Morecambe's financial struggles which almost saw the club cease to exist - hopefully this issue will never come up again now that the club has been sold to new owners - Garstang invited Shrimps' season ticket holders to come and watch their weekend game against Fulwood Amatuers for free.
  • Nelson are in the market for a new management team after the departure of Gerry Harrison. Applications for the role can be submitted by following the instructions laid out on the club's official X page - see here.
  • First Division North league leaders Thornton Cleveleys have recently introduced the "Club Red" monthly draw for supporters to take part in for a subscription fee, with cash prizes and additional club benefits up for grabs for the winners.

First Division South:

  • Eccleshall have begun work on a new kitchen in the refreshments bar at the Stoke Signage Stadium, thanks to Howdens Game Changer Programme, in conjunction with the Football Foundation - read more about that by clicking this link.
  • Stafford Town were beaten by two goals to one in their home friendly against the Royal Air Force Senior Representative Team on Wednesday night.
