Weekend 6 n the NWCFL saw five sides in Emirates FA Cup action as well as games in all three divisions in the league.
Emirates FA Cup
Atherton LR shocked neighbours Atherton Collieries in a pulsating FA Cup tie with Rovers running out 5-2 winners. They were three goals up at half time and despite Colls pulling one back, they added another two to move 5-1 up. Colls scored again late in the game with the game already won.
Chadderton join them in the hat on Monday after a 3-1 win at Bishop Auckland. Chaddy went ahead in the first half and led at the break before Bishop levelled at the start of the second half. Two further goals for Chaddy sent them through.
Elsewhere out other three sides bowed out. Runcorn Linnets won 2-0 at West Didsbury and Chorlton, West Auckland Town beat Wythenshawe 3-1 with Longridge Town going down 1-0 at Hebburn Town.
Premier Division
There were eight games in the Premier Division with the strange scenario of not one home team claiming victory.
City of Liverpool picked up their first win of the season with a 4-3 win at AFC Liverpool, the winner coming in the 93rd minute of the game. Irlam won 3-0 at Litherland REMYCA with FC St Helens and South Liverpool both winning away.
The remaining four games all ended in draws.
First Division North
Maghull lead the way in the First Division North after a 3-1 win at Steeton, with Droylsden hot on their heels after winning 4-1 at Ashton Athletic.
Bacup Borough's first league game of the season ended with a 1-0 win at Ashton Town with Nelson getting their first league win of twhe season with a 2-1 win over Thornton Cleveleys.
Colne, AFC Blackpool and Squires Gate all had good wins with the other two games ending in draws.
First Division South
Telford Town lead the way after a 2-1 win at Ashville with Runcorn Town just behind after a 2-0 win at Shawbury United. Sandbach United had the biggest win of the day with a 9-0 win over Wolverhampton Sporting Community, Joe Bevan scoring a hattrick there, with Tom Wakefield also hitting three for Foley Meir in their 4-0 win over Haughmond.
Stafford Town, Stockport Georgians, Barnton and Cammell Laird 1907 all won on the road with New Mills winning at home. There were no draws in the division.
