Power Of Player Sponsorship

It's commonplace at most clubs in the NWCFL for players to have their own sponsors, this being a relatively cheap way for companies and supporters to both give something to their local club and cheer on their favourite player.
One player sponsor though has gone above and beyond though recently in their efforts.
Gavin Hanson, who is the Managing Director of Hanson Property Services, has been sponsoring Deklan Hill for a number of years now, through his time at both Runcorn Town and Ashton Athletic. However as well as paying the club for his sponsorship, Gavin also donates to charity based on how Dek is performing.
Dek explains "Gavin has been my sponsor for the past couple of seasons now. Every time I score a goal or win Man-of-the-Match, Gavin puts money aside to give to charity. There's even a bonus if I score a hat-trick!
"Last season was good for myself at Ashton, and I met up with Gavin at the end of it where he presented me with a cheque for £300. This brings the total for the past couple of seasons where he’s sponsored me to in excess of £500".
The money that Gavin has donated has gone to the charity Children with Cancer UK. Every day in the UK, 10 children and young people are still being diagnosed with cancer, and the charity both funds research into improving understanding of the disease as well as supporting children and their families.
Away from his sponsorship of Dek, Gavin also completed the Cheshire Loop last month, a 100 mile bike ride which raised £2500 for Halton Haven Hospice in Runcorn.
Over this summer, Dek has moved on from Ashton Athletic to Barnton. However his new club won't have to look for a sponsor for him, with Gavin once again putting his hand in his pocket.
Dek says "I loved my time at Ashton, a great club who I will always have a soft spot for. My partner and I have recently welcomed a new baby, and with Barnton 15 minutes away instead of 45 minutes to Ashton, it just fits in better at this time. Hopefully I can have another good season, with Gavin donating even more at the end of it!"
