PREMIER DIVISION

The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for December 2024 has gone to Theo Roberts from Lower Breck.

Theo started his career with Wigan Athletic, making his debut in the EFL Trophy against Accrington Stanley at the DW Stadium in 2017. Spells followed at AFC Fylde, Buxton and Atherton Collieries in the Northern Premier League, and he played one game for Bury in 2021/22 in the FA Vase. He has been firmly established as number one at Lower Breck for the past two seasons.

November saw Theo play in all three games that Lower Breck played, games in which he kept two clean sheets and conceded just one goal to help his side firmly cement their promotion ambitions.

The first two games of the month were at home, Theo keeping a clean sheet against Northern Premier League side Marine in the Liverpool Senior Cup before firmly marshalling his defence in a 5-1 win over Nelson in the Macron Cup Third Round.

The third game of the month for Theo saw Lower Breck win 3-0 at home to FC Isle of Man, the clean sheet in that game being his 12th of the season to put him in contention for the league Golden Gloves award at the end of the season.

Congratulations to Theo on his Award!

He moved to Steeton in October after an injury to James Catlow, and has built up a firm understading with his defence in that time leading to a superb December. .

The month started with a 1-1 draw at Daisy Hill, where he kept his side a point with a wonderful late save two minutes from time to deny the home side. He then put in a Man of the Match performance on Boxing Day in a 2-0 away win at Route One Rovers in the derby match.
