August 2026 paxsport Goalkeeper of the Month announced

The Winners of the paxsport Goalkeeper of the Month Awards for August 2026 have been announced this week by the NWCFL.
The Wigan-based company are sponsoring the awards as part of a three year deal. paxsport are offering an exclusive discount for NWCFL Goalkeepers who use the discount code 'NWCFL' on the paxsport.com website. The discount code is now active on the site and can be used immediately.
PREMIER DIVISION
The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for August 2026 has gone to Connor Beard of Trafford.
This is the first time that Connor has won this award and also the first win for Trafford - hardly surpringly though given that they have not been in our league since the 2007/08 season! Connor's performances for Trafford has helped them to win the Club of the Month, with Connor keeping five clean sheets in seven games played.
Connor made the switch to the Trafford at the start of this season after previous being at Abbey Hey, making 42 appearances last season as Abbey firmly established themselves as a Premier Division side. Previous to that he was at Atherton LR, whilst he has also played in the league for Sandbach United.
The first game in August saw Trafford host Longridge Town. It was a comfortable afternoon for Connor who kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win. The following midweek game was less comfortable, with Rambottom United winning 3-0, all three goals coming in the first half. Connor could do little with any, one being a deflected own goal and another a long range, dipping effort.
Another clean sheet came in Connor's third game, marshalling his defence well in a 2-0 win in the FA Cup at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic. When he was beaten, the ball rebounded off the crossbar. Two clean sheets then became three as Trafford progressed in the FA Vase with a 4-0 win at Armthorpe Welfare.
Trafford returned to league action with a 3-0 win at Abbey Hey, that being three successive clean sheets for Connor. Abbey offered strong resistance in this game, but again Connor's organisation of his defence was imperitive.
A 3-2 win at Runcorn Linnets was next in the Emirates FA Cup, Connor unable to prevent either of Linnets' goals. The final game brought a fourth clean sheet of the month, Trafford taking an early lead and being thankful for Connor's form as he kept out efforts from Dean Pinnington and Tomas Brown.
Six games in the month, four clean sheets and just seven goals conceded.

FIRST DIVISION NORTH
The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North has gone to Daniel Jennings of Woolton. He is the first Woolton player to win this award, and it is the first time that Daniel has won this award.
Daniel is in his second season in the NWCFL and has represented Woolton since their promotion to the league at the start of last season. He has been at the club for a number of years having come through at MSB Woolton Reserves in the Liverpool Premier League.
The first game for Daniel in the month came at Colne, conceding just once as Woolton started the season with a 3-1 win. Next up was a home game against Ashton Town with Woolton making it a perfect start with a 3-2 win.
A trip to Darwen was next, Daniel saving early on from Daniel Basterfield. With the scores at 1-1, Daniel made key saves from Basterfield again, Ryan Cattermole and Nathan Bond to secure his side a point. The first clean sheet of the month for Daniel came next in a goalless draw with Ashton Athletic. Daniel organised his defensive well, and when he was beaten, saw Marcus Cusani's shot come back off the crossbar.
Another clean sheet came in a 1-0 FA Vase win against AFC Liverpool. Daniel set the groundwork with good saves from Aaron Cummins and Kyle Robinson-Murray, laying the foundations for a 1-0 win.
Woolton were then involved in two 2-1 scorelines, with a defeat at home to Ashville and a win at Daisy Hill. Daniel could do little to stop any of the three goals, but made a key save late on against Daisy Hill from Gerry McCullion, fortunately seeing the rebound disallowed for offside.
The final game was a 3-3 thriller with Squires Gate, Woolton coming from 2-0 and 3-1 down. Daniel made several key stops early in the game to prevent Gate running away with it, giving his side the opportunity to come back to force a point.
In total Daniel played eight games and kept two clean sheets, with just ten goals conceded.

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH
The winner of the August 2026 Goalkeeper of the Month Award for the First Division South is Adam Whitehouse of Eccleshall. This is the second time that Adam has picked up this award having won it last November for the Eagles.
Adam played more than 200 times for the Stafford Rangers after first joining the club in 2014, and was part of the Stafford side that won the 2015/16 Northern Premier League First Division South. After leaving Stafford, he played for Boldmere St. Michaels and Rushall Olympic before moving to Hanley Town and then Newcastle Town. He joined Eccleshall last October from Newcastle, quickly establishing himself as the clubs' number one.
Eccleshall started the season with a 3-1 home win against Widnes Town, Adam unable to do anything to stop Josh Quarless' consolation with ten minutes remaining. The midweek game at Allscott Heath saw him keep a clean sheet in a 4-0 win.
Barnton then won 2-1 at Eccleshall, Adam again with no chance for either goal, and it could have been more but for a superb stop from a Joe Keyworth effort.
Eccleshall returned to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Allscott Heath in the FA Vase, a second clean sheet of the season. Wednesfield Community then stunned Eccleshall with a 3-2 win, Eccleshall going three behind there as they switched off for the first hour of that game.
The final two games of the month were both similar. Both were won 1-0 on the road at Foley Meir and Cheadle Heath Nomads, with Adam making it four clean sheets in the month. He marshalled his defence well in both games, being alert when required to keep the home sides at bay.
In total seven games played with four clean sheets and just six goals conceded.
