AFC Liverpool’s standout performer Callum Schorah has scooped the joint Premier Division Player of the Year award, having won 11 Man of the Match awards throughout the 2021/22 season.
He shares the award with Skelmersdale United’s Elliot Morris, who also won 11 Man of the Match awards as his side were promoted.
AFC Liverpool endured a fairly middling campaign in 2021/22, finishing 14th, with 49 points and a goal difference of exactly zero. In an unremarkable season, the goal-scoring and show-stealing exploits of Callum Schorah have been a shining light for his club.
Schorah’s 11 Man of the Match awards came against Northwich Victoria, Runcorn, Congleton (x2), Burscough, Winsford, Irlam (x2), Ashton Athletic, Charnock Richard and Longridge.
Between September 29th and October 16th , Schorah won 4 MOTM awards on the bounce, and scored 7 goals during that time. His remarkable season hasn’t gone unnoticed, as Northern Premier League side Widnes have since secured his services for the 2022/23 campaign.
When we reached out to Callum for his reaction, he said "I am delighted to be named joint Player of the Year in the Premier Division. There are some quality players in this league and I am made up to get this award.”
Congratulations again, Callum!
