NWCFL side win Groundsman of 2019 for Steps 5 & 6

The full results for the 2019 Groundsman of the year have just been released and it is with great pleasure that we can reveal that NWCFL First Division North side Shelley has been awarded first place for Steps 5 and 6 - beating off some stern competition.
We spoke to Shelley's manager Ash Berry earlier in November and he revealed that they had won and had a brilliant day out as part of the prize, "It’s a beautiful setup. We’ve had two seasons in the League now and our facilities are up there with the best of them. I think most clubs would agree with that so I think people enjoy coming. Particularly the pitch: the pitch is absolutely excellent.
"We were lucky enough to win that Ground Scheme of the Year, me and my two mates, for the last two years. We went down to the England game a fortnight ago on Thursday night because we won the national award for Steps 5 and 6, which meant we could go to St. George’s Park. As a result of that, we got invited to the England game. I went down to that for a corporate meal but, what we didn’t know, we were on the pitch at half time. That was a hell of an experience. Fantastic!"
Second place for Steps 5 and 6 was Brocton FC, whilst in third was Rainworth Miners Welfare.
A huge congratulations to Shelley and their team at Storthes Hall Lane.
