EMIRATES FA CUP THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND

Trafford started the weekend as our last remaining team in the Emirates FA Cup, and they ensured that they will be in Monday's Fourth Qualifying Round draw after a 2-2 thriller with Atherton Collieries.

The Northern Premier League side took the lead ten minutes before the break through Harry Forshaw, but the second half saw Trafford hit back and they were level within five minutes. Kyle Worsley was the man who levelled as he connected with a long throw to turn the ball home, and eight minutes later Bile Ahmed saw his effort from the left hand side go over the keeper.

Trafford have twice previously got to this stage of the competition but not progressed further. And just as they were about to celebrate a victory that would have made club history, Colls equalised in the last minute of the game with Essa Janneh hitting home from close range.

The replay is on Tuesday in Atherton, with the draw for the next round broadcast live on talkSPORT this coming Monday. Tune in to the Hawksbee and Jacobs Show at around 2pm.

PREMIER DIVISION

The top two met in the Premier Division as leaders Droylsden travelled to Nelson, and its Nelson who are now top after a 3-1 win. Andrew Hill put them ahead on seven minutes with Thomas Platt levelling midway through the half, only for Hill to restore the lead before half time. The second half saw a further goal from Luke Hepple with Nelson comfortably seeing out the game.

The Bloods drop to third after that loss, with Burscough jumping into second place after a 3-2 win over Glossop North End. It looked very comfortable for the Linnets with Callum Laird's early goal added to in the second half by William Dunne and Dilon O Callaghan. However Glossop hit back through Adekunle Badmus with ten minutes left before Alexander Sami made it a tense finish, however they could not find the equaliser.

Chadderton are fourth who were without a game, with the top five made up by Barnoldswick Town who won 1-0 at Irlam. The home side were looking to make it sevenafter  straight wins however Barlick had other ideas with Connor McAuley's goal midway through the second half proving the difference.

Biggest win over the day came at South Liverpool who overcame Longridge Town 4-1. It looked good for the visitors who opened the scoring early, but South levelled six minutes before the break. They had to wait until the 73rd minute to go ahead, but once they did there was no stopping them and they added two more late on.

There was also a 4-1 win for FC Isle of Man who won at Litherland REMYCA. The Ravens had a superb first half and were three goals to the good by half time. Another was added with ten minutes to go, with REMYCA getting a consolation in the last minute.

Two goals in the last perod of the first half helped Euxton Villa to a 2-1 win at Abbey Hey. The home side rallied in the second but could only muster a penalty midway through the half in response.

Gareth Hill continues to be in red-hot form with his two early goals giving Ramsbottom United a two goal lead at home to FC St Helens. The visitors hit back though and scored two second half goals to force a 2-2 draw.

The final game was also a 2-2 draw between Charnock Richard and Atherton LR, a game that was goalless after 69 minutes. Rovers then hit two in two minutes to establish a firm lead, and they held this until four minutes from time when Charnock pulled one back. They then levelled in stoppage time.

FIRST DIVISION NORTH

Its Maghull who lead the way still in the First Division North after a 2-1 win over Colne made it five successive wins. It was the visitors who took the lead after just six minutes through Barney Wiggin, and it took until eight minutes into the second half for Maghull to level through Connor Rankin. Just after the hour mark, Rankin added another with Maghull seeing out the game to claim another three points.

Thornton Cleveleys are second after staging an unlinkely comeback to win at Flixton. They took the lead after just three minutes through Jordan Beavers, but the home side turned it around to lead with Aaron Dwyer scoring just before the break and Lewis-Simon Byrne five minutes into the second half. Dwyer then added another three minutes later to give his side a 3-1 lead. Josh Winder pulled one back on the hour, and then hit another on 75 minutes to make it all square. Enter Beavers for his second of the game six minutes from time, a goal that gave his side a 4-3 win.

Cammell Laird 1907 are third but lost ground after a goalless draw at home to lowly Garstang, with Flixton staying in fourth. The top five is completed by Darwen who won 4-1 at home to Halewood Apollo. Kalvin Morris gave them an early lead with Jonathan Stocks levelling after half hour. Ashton Athletic recorded their first away win of the season at Squires Gate, a result that looked unlikely when Squires Gate went two goals ahead just before the half hour. However three second half goals turned the game on its head, Joe White hitting the winner for Ashton.

Woolton beat Uppermill 2-1 with Ashville winning by the same scoreline at Maine Road. the final game saw AFC Knowsley and Steeton play out a 1-1 draw.

Sandbach United lead the First Division South, a 6-2 win over Alsager Town making it 19 points from the last 21 available. The first half went one way and then the other, Kyle Foley giving them an early lead with Edwin Parry levelling on 17 minutes. Matty Birchall restored the lead on the half hour, before an own goal made it 2-2 at the break. The second half saw Sandbach find the net regularly, with Kieran O'Connell, Jack Finney, Saul Shotton and Max Williams all on target.

Wolverhampton Casuals are second after a 3-0 win away at Wednesfield Community. All the goals came in the first half hour with Callum Knowles opening the scoring, Jayden Kirk with the second and Liam Kirton with the third.

Stafford Town slip to third after a 1-1 draw at Dawley Town. It was goalless going into stoppage time there, with Joe Cuff giving Dawley the lead before Lewis Satchwell equalised three minutes into stoppage time.

Bilston Town are fourth after a 3-1 away win at Foley Meir. The home side took the lead through Connor Lawton just before the break with Darragh Bustin levelling from the spot ten minutes into the second half. Bustin then put Bilston ahead before Jordan Crump sealed the win five minutes from time.

AFC Bridgnorth round out the top five after a 2-2 draw at Eccleshall. Michael Williams put them ahead before goals from Matty Argent-Barnes and Dylan Bath put the Eagles ahead at the break. David Anani's goal at the start of the second half meant it was a point apiece.

Allscott Heath had a good 4-1 away win at Crewe. They took an early lead before the home side equalised, but two more Allscott goals made it 3-1 at the break. It remained that way until the last minute when Allscott added a fourth.

It proved a good day for away sides with Barnton winning 3-1 at Shawbury United, James Sigsworth with a brace for Shawbury. New Mills won 1-0 at Market Drayton Town, whilst Widnes Town picked up their first win of the season as they won 2-1 at Brereton Social.
