We were delighted to catch up recently with Ashville, winners of the First Division South PST Sport Club of the Month award for October 2025.

The Management and Backroom Team from Ashville are pictured receiving the award on behalf of the club from League President Paul Lawler who carried out the presentation on behalf of the League Committee at one of their recent home games.

This is the first monthly award that Ashville have won since their promotion to the NWCFL ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Ashville won five of the six games that they played, including a superb 3-2 win on the road at Stafford Town. The only time they didn't taste success this month was a draw away at league leaders Runcorn Town.

Like Nelson, they started the month with a postponed game at home to Cheadle Heath Nomads, before facing the same opponent three days later in the First Round of the Cheshire Senior Cup. They progressed through to the next round in a close game with Shaun Farrell getting the only goal of the game on 55 minutes.

Next was a trip to Stafford Town, where they found themselves two goals behind after just 13 minutes following a goal each from Stafford's front two of Matthew Hearsey and Patryk Mazurkiewicz. Ashville reduced the arrears straight away through Joseph Dulson, with Dulson then levelling the scores with his second on the half hour. Thirteen minutes into the second half Dulson completed his hat-trick to put Ashville ahead, and that's how it remained with Ashville returning to the Wirral with all three points.

The rearranged game against Cheadle Heath Nomads was next, and it was another hat-trick that secured the points for Ashville in a 3-0 win. This time though it was Samuel Mann, who opened the scoring after just two minutes before adding another on 28 minutes. Just six minutes later it was three, with Ashville comfortably seeing out the game.

Attention then turned to the Edward Case Cup with a home tie against Wolverhampton Casuals. They fell behind in this game to an Owen Hesketh goal after just four minutes, but the lead only lasted four minutes with Jonathon Cahill levelling. Connor Rowland then put Ashville ahead on 37 minutes with that being enough to see Ashville through to the last 16.

An away trip to league leaders Runcorn Town followed, with Ashville surviving a penalty miss by their hosts late in the second half to return home with a point after a goalless draw.

The final game saw Alsager Town visit Ashville for a league game. They fell behind to a Luke Nicholls goal on 38 minutes however Ishmael Banks restored parity just a minute later. A Joseph Dulson penalty in first half stoppage time gave Ashville the lead, and that was enough to secure another three points.

That gave them 18 points from their 6 games for a 3.00 average.

Several teams did well in October, including Stockport Georgians and Stafford Town. Closest to them in the calculations was Telford Town, who had four wins, a draw and a loss.

Total Games played in the Month: 6
Total Points won in the Month: 18
Average: 3.00

Congratulations to all of the winners.
