Isuzu FA Vase - Draw for the Fourth Round Proper
Mon 9th December 2024 | FA Challenge Vase | By Martin Fallon
The draw for the Fourth Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase has been released.
Following Saturday's washout due to Storm Darragh, all six NWCFL sides remain in the competition and in this afternoon's draw.
We will be guaranteed a First Division side in the Fourth Round as Atherton LR play fellow First Division North side Ashton Town, and the winners of that will be at home to Northern Counties East League side Hallam in the Fourth Round.
Premier Division South Liverpool will have another home tie in the Fourth Round if they beat Albion Sports. The winners of that game will face one of two Northern League sides, that being either Crook Town or former NWCFL side Carlisle City, both of whom play in the top division of the Northern League.
Should West Didsbury and Chorlton overcome Silsden, then they will face a trip to the North East to also face a Northern League First Division side. That would be either Redcar Athletic who are the current Northern League leaders, or former winners of the Vase North Shields who overcame Glossop North End in the Final in 2015.
With the round being regionalised, Winsford United and Abbey Hulton United are in a different pot from the rest of the NWCFL clubs. Should Winsford United overcome fellow Step 6 side Sutton United (Birmingham), then they would be at home in the Fourth Round against either Northampton On Chemecks or Bourne Town. Both of those sides play in the United Counties League Premier Division, with Northampton in the South and Bourne in the North.
Fellow First Division South side Abbey Hulton United would also face a side from the United Counties League Premier Division North if they overcome Droitwich Spa, as a visit from Heanor Town await the victors in that game.
