Isuzu FA Vase Quarter Finals Draw
Mon 9th February 2026 | FA Challenge Vase | By Media Team
The draw for the Quarter Finals of the 2025/26 Isuzu FA Vase has been made this afternoon. The draw was hosted live on talkSPORT2 radio by Olly Clink and Sam Parkin.
As a league we will definitely have one of our member Clubs in the last eight, with the potential for one more should they win their rearranged game after it was postponed on Saturday due to the weather.
Thankfully the draw goes fully national at this stage so there is a greater prospect of drawing clubs who are in a different league to ours.
Droylsden are the side who are definitely through having beaten Midland League side Bilston Town 2-0 away on Saturday. They are one of only two Step 6 sides left in the competition, and they will be at home to Spartans South Midlands League side Cockfosters in the Quarter Finals.
Cockfosters play in the London Borough of Enfield, and have never played against a NWCFL side before. They currently sit in third position in the SSM Premier Division - the equivalent of our Premier Division - and got through on Saturday by knocking out the holders Whitstable away from home. The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Cockfosters progressing 5-4 on penalties.
They are in decent form with just one loss in their last ten games, that being a cup match with a severely weakened team! The club have reached this stage with wins over Long Melford (4-0), Tring Athletic (12-11 on pens after a 1-1 draw), AFC Welwyn (5-4 on pens after a 2-2 draw), Soul Tower Hamlets (3-2 on pens after a 1-1 draw), and Crawley Down Gatwick (2-1).
This Vase run is a club record for Bilston as they reached the Quarter Final stage in 1992/93 before losing to Canvey Island. However this is the furthest they have got since that run. For Droylsden, this is the furthest they have got, with the Third Round previously their best.
West Didsbury & Chorlton are also at home, and they will face our reigning First Division South Champions Winsford United next Saturday in a rearranged game after their clash was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. West are looking to reach the Quarter Final for the second time in four years, having been beaten by Ascot United in a penalty shoot out in 2022-23, with Ascot going on to win the competition that season.
The winners of the West v Winsford game will be away from home against the winners of another rearranged tie, either Hallen from the Hellenic League or Gornal Athletic from the Midland League.
Hallen are based just outside Bristol and play in the Hellenic League after winning the Western League last season, winning 31 of their 42 league games. They have reached this stage of the competition despite poor league form that sees them second bottom of their league, with just four wins this season from 23 league games. They have never faced a NWCFL side before.
In the Vase, this is the third time they have reached the Fifth Round, but they have never reached the Quarter Finals. This season they started in the First Qualifying Round, and have beaten Woodley United (1-0), Milton United (8-1), Newquay (3-1), Andover New Street (4-1 on pens after a 0-0 draw), Hamworthy Recreation (3-0) and Hythe and Dibden (4-2 on pens after a 1-1 draw).
Gornal are from Dudley in the West Midlands, and play in the Midland League First Division. They and are the only other Step 6 side left in the competition alongside Droylsden. They are in second place in their league, three points off the league leaders Knowle.
They have reached the Quarter Finals of the Vase before, this in 2012-13 when they lost to Spennymoor Town. They beat Haughmond from our First Division South 7-0 in their first Vase game this season, and have had some impressive wins over Coton Green (3-0), Atherstone Town (3-0), Grantham Town (5-2) and Heather St Johns (4-0).
