Having exited the FA Cup at the Preliminary Round stage last season, Bury have gone one better this season and face a trip over the Pennines in the First Qualifying Round.

Northern Premier League sides Garforth Town or Heaton Stannington await them in the next round, having played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday in their game. Garforth were thankful to an 88th minute equaliser in that game, securing their place in the next round as well as a trip to Heaton Stannington on Wednesday evening.

Garforth have played 27 times against NWCFL over the years, winning 11, with the most recent being in October 2021 when they bowed out of the FA Vase on penalties at Burscough. They haven't faced one of our sides in the FA Cup since August 2005 when they lost at Curzon Ashton. Heaton Stannington have faced our sides seven times, winning four, all of which were in the FA Vase, the most recent being last season when they knocked out both Ilkley Town and Darwen.

Former NWCFL side Silsden face a trip to West Didsbury & Chorlton, bouyed by knocking out Northern Premier League side Atherton Collieries on Saturday. The now Northern Counties East League side have made a terrific start to the season, sitting in fourth place in the early league table with two wins and a draw from their opening four games, as well as two wins in the FA Cup.

They have faced our sides 13 times since their lateral movement from us in 2018/19, winning four, most recently last season when they lost to Padiham in the FA Cup in August but beat Abbey Hey in the FA Vase in November.

South Liverpool face a replay at Witton Albion midweek after their a thrilling end to their 1-1 draw on Saturday that saw them score a last minute equaliser. They know a win in that will see them face another former NWCFL side in Northern Premier League side City of Liverpool, which would be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.

Since being promoted from our Premier Division in 2018/19, City of Liverpool have faced our sides four times and won them all (two of them on penalties!). The most recent was a thrilling 4-4 draw in the Liverpool Senior Cup with Lower Breck last season, Kenny Strickland levelling for CoL in stoppage time before their shoot out win.

Barnoldswick Town came from behind to force a 1-1 draw with another former NWCFL in Northwich Victoria, ensuring a midweek replay at Winsford United's ground. A win there will see them with a trip to Northern Premier League Premier Division side Lancaster City.

Lancaster have made an unbeaten start to the season with a win and two draws so far. They were founder members of our league before moving up to the Northern Premier League after its expansion in 1987, and this would be the 50th time they have faced a NWCFL since then if Barnoldswick progress.

Their most recent meeting with one of our sides came last season when they beat Prestwich Heys 3-0 in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy. In the FA Cup, their last meeting was a thrilling 5-3 loss to Bury in a replay in the 2022/23 season.
