Division One South Cammell Laird 1907 FC have accepted the resignation of first team manager Stuart Keir, effective from the end of this current season.  Originally appointed in May 2021 Keir has had a whirlwind of a tenure at Kirklands, finishing 14th in his first season in charge but reaching the finals of the Macron Cup and Edward Case Cup, finising runners up in both, however he brought the Wirral Senior Cup back to the club, it's first trophy since the club Changed its name to the 1907 suffix.

His second season was not as successful with the club finishing just outside of the relegation positions, but safe, nontheless.  Saturday’s final game of the campaign away to Ellesmere Rangers will be Keir’s last in charge at the club following the acceptance of his resignation.

Club Chairman, Lee Atherton has stated on the clubs website:  “As Chairman and as a club I’m disappointed we haven’t been able to provide Stuart with the necessary tools to achieve his and the club’s ambition of competing for promotion at the top end of the table.  I would personally like to thank Stuart, who has been a pleasure to work with since the moment he accepted the role."

“Stuart has always been open and honest and always kept a clear open line of communication with myself.  He is a top manager and I’m really sad to see him leave, and I wish him all the best for his future.”

The club have said that the process to look for Stuart's replacement is now underway.
