FIRST DIVISION SOUTH - RYAN MALBON (ECCLESHALL)
The October winner for the First Division South is Ryan Malbon from Eccleshall, the clubs first winner of this award since September 2021.
Ryanjay is a young player who joined Eccleshall this season and has improved game on game. His powerful running caused problems in the opening game of the month at Abbey Hey in what was his first start for the club and he scored a consolation goal in our defeat but earned the man of the match award.
He scored again in our Macron Cup win (on penalties) against Cheadle Heath and netted the clincher spot kick for good measure. In our FA Vase win against Newent Town, he was brought down in the box for our goal from the spot and ran himself into the ground in his striking role. He also netted the final spot kick in our penalty shoot-out victory.
On the Saturday against Rocester, he was a constant thorn in their side, setting up our first goal with a run down the left before a slide rule cross gave Mitch Glover an easy chance. His was a superb individual goal, another strong run before cutting into the box and driving the ball past the keeper to put us two up. His second MoM award followed. He has settled in well at Eccleshall and deserves the win this month.
