Foley Meir have reluctantly accepted the resignation of First Team manager Keiran Mear and his assistant Sam Golden with immediate effect.

Keiran has been associated with the club for 15 years, starting as a player then managing the U21's and the Reserve side before taking the 1st Team Manager role 3 years ago.

In the past 3 years under Keiran's leadership, the club was well placed to win the Staffs County Senior League Premier Division in 2019/20 season, only for COVID to curtail the season. Undeterred he lead the team to success again in 2020-21 and finally officially claimed the title. Last season a top four finish allowed Foley Meir to achieve our long term aim of promotion to the North West Counties Football League.

The club are all thankful and grateful for the hard work and effort Keiran and Sam have given in helping the club to grow and progress. We wish them both all the best for the future and both will always be welcome at Foley Meir FC.

Moving forwards the club is looking to appoint a successor and applications in confidence should be submitted to either the President Steve James (trainspares@btinternet.com) or Chairman Andy Mapperson (andy.mapperson@talk21.com).
