NWCFL First Division North side Emley have have just announced that joint-manager Mark Wilson has stepped down with immeadiate effect.

A statement from the club says, "Chairman Nigel Wakefield said: “I must place on record our huge thanks to Mark for his years of service to this club over the years as a player – both with the original Emley and the new club – and latterly his spell as joint manager. In all that time, he has never given anything less than 100% - on and off the field - and will remain an Emley legend who is welcome at this club at any time.”

Wilson said: “I want my reasons to be private - which I hope everyone will respect. This hasn't been an easy decision or an overnight thought, it has been on my mind for a while. Football is about enjoyment and if that isn't there, then decisions have to be made and I feel this is the right one.”

Wilson re-joined the club in a management position in May but now relinquishes the role to leave Richard Tracey as First Team Manager with Steve Nicholson continuing as Assistant Manager.

Tracey, Nicholson and everyone at the club are now focussed on the league match away at Bacup Borough on Wednesday evening.
