Padiham Football Club have appointed former Club captain Craig Chadwick as their new manager for the forthcoming 2010/11 season.

Following applications from all over the North West, the Storks' management committee decided to go for an "in house" appointment rather than bringing in a new face, after being impressed with Chadwick's views on how he felt the club could improve on last season's 10th position finish in the Premier Division of the Vodkat League.

The new manager will take charge of his new squad for the first time during a series of pre-season games starting this coming Saturday.  Padiham have arranged five preseason work outs, starting with an away game at Prestwich Heys on Saturday July 10th, then trips to Willaston on Saturday 17th July, Brighouse Town on Tuesday 20th July, and Mossley on Wednesday 28th July before playing AFC Darwen at home on Saturday 31st July.

A scheduled home friendly with a Burnley FC side on Tuesday 3rd August has been cancelled.

On a separate note, Padiham FC officials will be attending the town's 40th anniversary memorial service on Sunday July 4th, in memory of the players and supporters of Britannia Wanderers Football Club who lost their lives in the Spanish Air Crash on July 3rd 1970. The local league club changed its name to Padiham Wanderers in 1979 and then amalgamated with Padiham FC in 1990.
