Weekend 16 saw several games postponed due to the weather, but we still saw action all three divisions of the league.

Premier Division

Padiham regained the Premier Division top spot after a 2-0 win at Burscough thanks to a Lee Pugh double. He opened the scoring at the end of the first half before adding a second with 20 minutes remaining.

Previous leaders Ramsbottom United slipped to second after their home game with Irlam was postponed, with third placed West Didsbury & Chorlton and fourth placed Wythenshawe also seeing their home games with Charnock Richard  and Pilkington postponed.

Chadderton climbed to seventh after a 3-2 win at South Liverpool in a game of two halves. Chaddy bossed the first and led 3-0 at the break with Lewis-Simon Bryne scoring twice, however two goals in the last four minutes from the home side led to a nervy finish.

Abbey Hey remain second from bottom but gave their survival hopes a boost after a 1-0 win at Atherton LR. They are now just a point behind City of Liverpool who had a day to forget at Barnoldswick Town. Gareth Hill and Kuda Chingwaro both scored twice in that game as the East Lancashire side won 7-0.

It was also a day to forget for FC Isle of Man, who went down 5-0 at Prestwich Heys with Bryson Appleton scoring twice. Longridge Town won 2-0 on the road as they beat Stockport Town 2-1.

Euxton Villa took the lead against Glossop North End, with the visitors turning things around by half time to lead 2-1. Back came Euxton though, first levelling then scoring the winner from the spot through Rajwinder Uppal with four minutes to go.

The final game saw Cheadle Town lead 2-1 at the break at AFC Liverpool, with the home side levelling in stoppage time through a Owen Fisher-Jones penalty.

First Division North

Maghull remain top of the First Division North after a 1-1 draw at fifth placed Nelson, both goals there coming in the first half. The result gave Ashton Town the opportunity to move top, but they lost 1-0 at Darwen to a goal deep into stoppage time, the Salmoners climbing up to third after that win.

In fourth place are Droylsden, who overcame Fulwood Amateurs 1-0 at the Butchers Arms. AFC Blackpool are just outside the play-off spots, and they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Colne.

If its goals you wanted then the Ginge Power Stadium was the place to be. Jordan Beavers and Samuel Viegas both scored twice in the first half for Thornton Cleveleys who led 5-0 at the break. Daisy Hill though never gave up, scoring three in the second half but ultimately going down to a 5-3 loss.

It was a bad day for Ashton Athletic, whose home game with Steeton was postponed due to floodlight issues. Afterwards, they slumped to bottom after Gastang stunned Maine Road with a 6-1 victory, Liam Clegg scoring a hat-trick in that game.

The final game saw Squires Gate pick up a useful three points with a 1-0 win at Holker Old Boys.

First Division South

Runcorn Town remain top of the First Division South despite their game at Wolverhampton Casuals postponed, but Eccleshall closed the gap to three points after a 6-2 win over Haughmond. Jacob Vernon and Daniel Glover both scored twice in that game for the Staffordshire side.

Barnton remain third but went down to a 2-1 loss at Market Drayton Town, with Stafford Town jumping up to fourth after a 3-0 win over Alsager Town. Telford Town complete the play-off picture at present despite their game at Shawbury United being postponed.

Wolverhampton Sporting Community remain bottom despite leading at Cammell Laird 1907, with the home side turning it around to win 2-1 with the winner coming in stoppage time. That was the only other game played with Allscott Heath's game with Maine Road, Foley Meir home game with Cheadle Heath Nomads and Sandbach United's clash with Stockport Georgians all postponed.
