League Milestones and Statistics: Saturday 8th March 2025

 

Overall Stats:

  • Bacup Borough conceded their 2,700th goal with the 2-1 defeat at Ashton Athletic.
  • West Didsbury and Chorlton scored their 950th goal in the 1-3 defeat at Lower Breck on Thursday.
  • Prestwich Heys conceded their 750th goal when losing 1-2 at home to Burscough.

 

Home Stats:

  • None to report.

 

Away Stats:

  • West Didsbury and Chorlton’s win at Cheadle Town was their 100th NWCFL victory on the road.

 

Goal Heroes:

  • Stephen Milne hit all three of South Liverpool’s goal in the 3-3 draw at Chadderton on Friday night – this was the clubs first hat-trick since August 2023.

 

General Stats:

  • Padiham’s 0-0 at Litherland REMYCA was their first goal-less game since they drew at Darwen FC on 18/10/23.
  • Squires Gate’s great win in the Isle of Man was their first ‘three-pointer’ for twenty games and their first 3-2 away win since they won at Northwich Vics in November 2019.
  • Charnock Richard’s defeat at home to Ramsbottom Utd saw them fail to score for the first time in twenty-four games.
  • Maghull’s win against AFC Blackpool saw their first clean sheet in 19 games. This was also the first time they won 4-0 at home, in the NWCFL, since May 1986.
  • Cheadle Town’s 3-4 defeat against West Didsbury and Chorlton was a scoreline they last achieved on 26/03/22, 153 games ago. Similarly, it was WD&C’s first 4-3 away win since November 21, when they beat Prestwich Heys (a run of 92 away games).
  • Allscott Heath’s midweek 0-0 at Barnton was their first in the NWCFL, their last one was a 0-0 at AFC Bridgnorth on Boxing Day 2023.

 

Managers Milestones:

  • Steve Wilkes’ took charge of his 100th Ramsbottom Utd game with the midweek defeat to Padiham.
  • Next Saturday’s AFC Liverpool v Lowe Breck fixture should see Phil Stafford take charge of his 100th AFC Liverpool team.
