Stats and Milestone Update to Saturday 4th November 2023
A VERY quiet week on the stats front with the weather playing a big part.
Winsford Utd’s defeat at Droylsden was their 1050th game in the NWCFL. The game also saw them concede their 1,700th league goal.
Abbey Hulton’s 2-1 win at Alsager Town saw them concede their 400th league goal.
Brocton’s second goal in their 3-2 win at Barnton was their 200th in the league.
There are NO home or away milestones this week.
Jakob Hebda hit three for Colne but it wasn’t enough to prevent them losing 3-4 t home to Prestwich Heys. Interestingly, this was Colne’s first triple in the NWCFL since Jason Hart hit three in April 2016 – the year they were promoted to the NPL.
The goal machine that is Route One Rovers Zakariya Khan hit his FOURTH triple with three of his sides four as they defeated Nelson 4-1. He now has 20 goals in 17 games.
George Lomax was another triple hitter, getting all three of Ashton Town’s goals in the win at FC St Helens.
The Premier Division there have been seventeen league hat-tricks and nine in the cup games. Declan Daniels (Irlam) leads the way with three in the league. James Bailey (Kendal Town) and Nathan Cliffe (Squires Gate) both have two, James also has one in a cup game. Joel Brownhill (Padiham) has one in the league and one in the cup.
In Division One South, there have been just nine league hat-tricks and five in the cup. Regan Smith (Brocton) has two in the league and Morgan Payne (also Brocton) has one in the league and one in the cup.
Division One North has seen eighteen league hat-tricks and ten in the cup. As mentioned above, Zakariya Khan leads with four, teammate Anees Younis has two, as do Carl Peers (Ashton Town), Joseph Barker (FC St Helens) and Lewis-Simon Byrne (Bacup Borough). Leon Creech (Darwen) has one in the league and one in the cup.
