NWCFL Stats Update #9

Lots of Premier games this week, not so many in Division 1, however, a few had an impact on the milestone stats. 

On Tuesday night, AFC Darwen played their 350th game as they entertained Emley AFC at home. Saturday saw a couple of points to note. Firstly, Congleton Town notched up their 400th league victory as they beat Runcorn Town 4-2 at the Silk 106.9 Stadium, secondly Squires Gate conceded their 2100th goal when Irlam hit their third in the 5-1 win at The Brian Addison Stadium.

League Goal Stats

In the Premier Division, 350 goals have now been scored in the 90 games played. Either Cameron Grant of Bootle or Lewis Lacey of Avro hit the 350th, both are logged as 90th minute goals! 58% of strikes have come in the second half. Interestingly, 68 have been scored in the last ten minutes (19.4%)

In Division One South, 104 games have been played, 391 times the ball has found the back of the net, 214 of those were in the second half (54.7%).The final ten minutes have seen 80 goals scored or 20.4%.

Division 1 North has seen 102 games played so far and 384 goals scored, 225 have been second half strikes, 58.6%. The final ten minutes has resulted in 67 goals, just 17.4%, the lowest total of the three divisions.

League Game Sequences

Bootle have now won 5 on the trot, closely followed by Charnock Richard with 4. Abbey Hey also have a run of 5 wins as do Lower Breck.

Whitchurch Alport have the best unbeaten run at the moment with seven games, six wins and a draw.

A mixture of County Cup, FA Vase and league games in the next seven days, so, more stats to follow next week.

One to Look Out For

On Tuesday night, weather permitting, 1874 Northwich entertain Congleton Town. This will be the home side’s 250th league game and the visitors 950th.
