New Pitches At West

West Didsbury & Chorlton have announced that new grass pitches being developed alongside the existing facilities at Brookburn Road should be available for use next summer.
The news follows on from last week’s announcement regarding development of the facilities at the ground, which will include an extension to the main stand and a new covered standing area, and will further enhance the club’s ability to host senior and junior football.
West Secretary Rob Turley said: “Work is well advanced on laying out the new grass pitches adjoining the existing club, and although the wet weather has delayed things, completion is expected before the end of November when the final playing surface will be cultivated and seeded.
“The pitches will then be left for the new grass to get established and then a first cut and handover to the club will follow next Spring. This has been planned so that the new pitches will be available for pre-season training and games for the other adult and veterans teams, and the new junior teams at the club, from summer 2014.
“The new facility will comprise two full size and two junior pitches, along with a grass perimeter which can be used for fitness and circuit training”.
