Chadderton will be looking to put their midweek FA Vase exit at the hands of Atherton Colls behind them, as they travel to Ashton Town looking to improve their League standing.

Like many other clubs Chadderton have fallen foul of the weather a fair bit of late, so they may be happy just to get a couple of games in relatively quick succession.

Ashton have done very little wrong of late, but have slipped from second in the table to sixth as the chasing pack swell the clamour for the coveted play off positions, and with tough looking games against the likes of Irlam, Holker, St Helens and Cheadle on the horizon Ashton will be looking for a positive result here ahead of a busy period.

After last weeks impressive 6-2 away win at St Helens Town, Daisy Hill host Widnes at the New Sirs looking to keep building on recent good results knowing that if they win and results go their way, they will enter the top half of the table for the first time in a wee while.

Widnes, who are in the midst of a rotten run of league form, will look for a strong performance ahead of their high profile Liverpool Senior Cup tie with Everton on Monday night at the Select Security Stadium.

Litherland REMYCA host Atherton LR at Litherland Sports Park, this fixture is the reverse of Remyca’s first game of the season where they defeated LR 2-0 at Crilly Park.

That was a balmy day at the height of summer where flying ants invaded changing rooms and made a nuisance of themselves.   At Litherland Sports Park there are unlikely to be any insects but hopefully some decent football.

Last time out in the League Remy saw off league leaders Barnton 2-1 at Townfield with a late winner.  Last weekend LR were unlucky as they travelled to Eccleshall but came out of the game with a 3-2 defeat to a rapidly improving team.

LR were in front twice in that game and just ran out of steam in the deteriorating conditions, but should take heart from what by all accounts was a battling performance.

In-form Northwich Manchester Villa came away from an incident packed day at Cheadle Town last weekend with a very creditable draw as they continue to rise up the table.  They currently sit in eleventh place in the table but are only seven points off a play-off spot.

St Helens Town had an awkward game last time out, they were convincingly beaten at home 2-6 by a hard working Daisy Hill side, who at one point were 5-0 up as Town were just not at the races on the day.  Town’s week was frustrated even further by the postponement in midweek of their Reusch First Division Cup game against Chadderton as they were in FA Vase action, so they will be looking for a return to form.

One of the division's form teams, Holker Old Boys, travel to Rochdale Town on Saturday looking to keep their recent momentum going. Scott Redhead will have been impressed with his new charges as they saw off Ashton Town 2-0 last weekend in the Reusch First Division Cup.

Rochdale have struggled of late winning only one of their last six in all competitions including a 3-1 defeat at Stockport Town last weekend.

Last but not least, after a spell of good form in late October Whitchurch Alport have found a patch of inconsistency of late, having lost their last three games in all competitions conceding twelve goals along the way so they will be looking to put that right this weekend as they face Cheadle Town at Yockings Park.

Terry Hincks’ men are riding high at present in both the league and form table and they will be looking at this game as an opportunity to top the table if other results go their way.

Lots of good games about in all competitions, but as far as Division One goes there are a number of clubs who will be looking with a keener eye on the top spot following Barnton’s defeat last week and not being in league action on Saturday.
